Mine was the exact opposite. Then again, maybe because I am using 400W MHs.

It is ok. If you want algae bloom or you got alot of time to scrub the algae off. Understand the 'need' for showing off tank, trust me. I also show off my tank. Open curtains, then at night on my MH, off the rest of the lights in the living room, when people walk by my house, if they look in, they will see a tank 'floating' in mid air, due to tinted glass doors. Try to imagine, can't really show you guys, nothing in tank to show off. Good for you. Wish all newbies will do that. More enlightenment that way. General Guideline is 2ft, one MH. Better off getting 2 X 150W. The more the merrier. Sorry. Can't really advise on that. I advise what I know and personally experience. I never use before, so I won't pretend to know and give advise on what I read elsewhere. My style is I give advice out of personal experience. The luminarcs and spider reflectors serve this purpose; to 'prevent' light wastage. Refering to my previous advise, the general guideline is 2ft, 1 MH. So I guess not much is wasted? Reckon it is better than having 3 MHs for a 5 feet? Get my drift? Sure, shimmering is cool. But I feel that the top reason of getting a MH, should be that it is healthier for coral growth, as it is quite close to what the natural sunlight specturm gives. I hope that I did manage to 'unconfuse' you and I hope you know what to do next. Many Welcomes.

need your help
mUAr_cHEe replied to neoagent2000's topic in Weekly LFS Stocks Report / LFS Info Centre
Me. Neo, what you are asking is very vague and broad. How can we tell you finish? Just check out the newbie sub-forum, read the stickies and some of the threads. You can find tons of information there. Maybe you can share your location, then meet reefers in your area, visit their tanks before going into the life-altering decision of whether to keep a reef tank or not. -
Looks like somebody is an SK2 user.

AMWAY and Tupperware is one of the better reputated companies, and in fact, they are doing well. Selling useful products for one! I personally think Nuskin also not bad. Solved my brother's acne problems, better than when I reccommended him to use sand paper.

My buddy sells Astralmag and myself have tried before, my parents have a set. It is as good as say, drinking diamond water? Just see whether you believe in these minor minor little improvement it does to your body. I still think nothing is more refreshing than a good round of ######.

Even with shoes on. So next morning, can just wake up and go down straight away if you wake up really late. No need to waste time changing clothes.

For Coral growth, the lower the better. 6500K is the best.

If dex did not log in a long time after CNY, we would know for sure that those abalones are not edible.

Not a good idea. It will be a disaster when the frog fish tries to eat the lion fish. One dies from being someone else's meal. The other literally dies from food poisoning.

NONSENSE! Just put water, salt, sand, rocks in all the same time. No need to wait here and there. And the prawn too. Referring to my previous post, there is no need for you to do that, just maintain your water and let it cycle for at least a month. Personally, I will cycle about half a year. It is a proven method for me to have lesser chance of algae bloom. No need to on lights also when cycling. Rocks do not need light to live. Do not bother about coralline algae too. It is too over-hyped. Nothing special or good when you got coralline algae. It is just a sign that your water is stable. To me, coralline algae is a pest, sucks up all my calcium unnecessarily. Make me waste money buy Kalk and Calcium reactor to satisfy its needs.

First of all, I want to clarify and state that I am not doing this for any recognition of any sort. Glad that you know, so please do not repeat the same mistake again. Surprised that it is your fish that died but not your inverts. Usually inverts are more sensative and tend to die first. No need to do anything. Just leave it be, and let this water cycle. No need to waste water like that. Tell me what you going to do. Take our old water, top up with new water, then put in a market prawn to start the cycling? Why not leave your dead fish in the tank in the first place? Even if your rocks are dead, with proper cycling, it will become alive again. It is probably sediments thrown up, and they are light-weight, so it might take some time for them to settle down. No worries, I'd usually throw a filter in, and viola! Its cleared overnight. Dude! Its not the end of the world. Your life still sounds better than mine. I spend 15 days travelling here and there far far away. Got home or back in Singapore on Saturday night. Flew off again on Monday afternoon. I am coming back tomorrow, going to spend maybe a week or 2 in Singapore, then I am off again for who knows how long, and got another stupid inauguration ceremony to attend on 9th Jan. Probably to save money, I will be spending my new year away from my family so that I can save on air fare. I think a bad start to a tank is still tons and way better than time away from your loved ones. And try typing in proper english, when I have been using rottern english for the past 2 years in this forum. Its very stressful.

Third Topic of the Agenda. From this moment on, I will type in SRC. Proper English, with proper grammer and punctuation, the best I can. I sincerely hope that more will join me in my fight to a better forum. Nerds 'R' Us. 1) mUAr_cHEe (n. An asian delicacy that is made up of a sesame paste and covered with peanuts.) -
er.... do not mean to be a wet blanket.... but do you think this is viable in the long run?? as we all should jolly well know.... reef tank is a black hole.... it will be soon before all this money will get finished soon... then we gonna get money from?? how many ppl here will volunteer? how many of these volunteers will stay at this thing long? and the best question of all, who wants to start? you got to consider... if all this do not work out in the end, and with a SRC label there.. it might all backfire in the end.... but it is a good suggestion nonetheless.... sorry for being a pompus pessimistic @ss... just stating my points... then again... maybe i am trying to challenge anyone here to prove me wrong, take up the challenge and start the whole ball rolling..
