Like to clarify with the general public. What is the exact defination of "Pico" and "Nano"? With reference to this. In all my years of reefing, anything smaller than 2 feet is called a Nano. Even for a half-footer, 6 inch cube. I had one. I always referred to it as my "nano". Its only quite recently in RC, the term "Pico" was used. I assume it is called "pico" because the brand of the tank is called "Pico". That was my assumption. One kind soul then linked us to that particular thread, and then alot of reefers suddenly started a "Pico" tank. And it seems to me recently, this term is being rather misused. Let me look at the dictionary. Little Oxford, Printed in 1996. HOLY GUAKER MOLEY! 10 years already. I am really getting old. Maybe thats why I can't accept changes. Its the right of every old folk. Just like for every vacation, by the dad code, every dad is entitled to one horredous and distasteful shirt. My dictionery is kind of crap. Nano is defined as a prefix only. one thousand millionth. There is no "pico" in my tank, but i assume that it might be derived from "piccolo" which is a small flute. Let me check Wikipedia. Cool. Wikipedia got defination of Nano reef. Defination of Nano Reef by Wikipedia There is no real defination of Pico tank or reef in Wikipedia. But the defination of Pico is again a prefix. Pico is 10 to the power of negative 12, whereas Nano is 10 to the power of negative 9. I do not really have time now to check RC to clarify the exact defination of the term, "Pico", since that is where all the Picoing started. But when I do, I will update this thread. This thread is again not for the purpose of slamming, flaming and bitch-slapping. I just want to educate and correct a misconception before we look like bloody fools to other people.

Even for down there? Got special?

If a certain person is a bad guy, are those around him, his friends all bad too?

What is the difference?

I nuked my tank because of this algae. It will cover your tank in no time. Then you got a very nice planted tank.

its always "assume" thats gets us all in trouble. Break it up: ###### U ME very simple. Never assume that someone is new bird when he is still plankton or copepod. Cut some slacks for the old birds too. We have seen too much e-diots in this forum to still exercise our paitence. As long as we understand each other, we are one big happy family. let me add in one more tip for the AT, otherwise this becomes an off-topic reply. "Stay out of dark alleys."

It was on the papers long long ago. AS long as you do not disturb them, they will not disturb you. -
Should be safe since its on pellets already. But still you got to try Henry's Blend. Go down to ML for a sample. Finger Lickin' Good.

Usually, you can just leave it on the rocks or maybe wedge it inbetween the rocks. If it doesn't like it, it will shift to a spot that it likes. The worms can move on their own if they are out of their tubes. Basically you can just put at where ever you think the worm might look nice at. The problem I think is your fish. Not reef safe, or at least fan-worm safe.

Welcome to SRC and to the blackhole of money. 12mm is good. Very good. DSB thickness is a preference thing. Some don't like sand at all. Can get an overflow from ian, i-aqua. Worth every penny. One of the sponsers. check it out at the bottom.

I got no hair lah. I shave one. Can't be me.

Not really hijacking your thread. This is my royal gamma. You can try to compare the difference. becareful of this dottyback that you have. they are very fierce. I am sure you should know that by now. Another thing, I would not leave the hydrometer like that if I were you. Trouble if it cracked by the Act of God and should the alchol or mercury leak into the tank. You either get Heavy-metal fishes or drunk ones.

double posting. Removed this one. Pls refer to next reply.

I am planning that right now.

Too bad you not coming tomorrow, or not I show you how big I am. Food for thought. How did this end up here?

Not so free.

Got to resize some of your pics. Guess got to leave a mod to do this. First of all, your nano is abit too small for 3 clowns. Personally I would not really keep nudis in small tank. The bigger the tank would be better, will have better chance seeing them "fly" through the water.

I just got to add this. We are not flaming you. Just providing you our comments and views. As they say, "Gotta give and take." We give you our comments (after all, that is why you posted, you wanted some comments) and you got to take our comments. Am I making sense here?

No offense taken. Respect your point of view. Its your money when you buy the fish. Not mine. Not my problem if you want it to be blatently put. We shall move on. As I said, my experience is that it ate turtle weed. I got 3 ATs. the first one is a stupid newbie mistake. Cost me almost 300 bucks. Like how i put it, do not know how to care for the fish, then buy it, and let it die in my tank. That is where i learn my lesson. That is why I am trying to preach this fact to everyone here. the second one was after 3 months of intensive research. This one is downright unlucky. put in tank, hide in rocks, it won't come out until it died, and I took it out of the tank. After 6 months of getting over, the last one i got, was fine. It was with me for quite some time. Took me a while (no stock for quite some time) , and alot of petrol (i live in the east, ML is the damn west part of singapore) to get Henry Mix. It finally ate Henry's mix after one week's of paitence. But it ended when my tank crashed. You should really try Henry's mix or blend. It is damn good. So good that you almost want to eat it yourself. Mmmm...

Personally, I will keep it Zen. Some SPS, with a helfrichi, and maybe some nice shrimps. But then again, since you are only beginning. I'd suggest you try to keep it simple also. Maybe you can try anemone with mated clown pair. Otherwise, some nice corals with a frog fish would not be too bad. Then again, all this is my personal preference. noticed that I like to use alot of back ground, but just one nice outstanding centrepiece fish? That is my style. So what is yours? Try to keep in mind that you need both background and foreground to work together. One have to supplement the other and really bring it out. Just my advice and 2 cents. No need to listen if you think I am talking rubbish. I usally got alot of nonsense.
