in general 4 tubes should be sufficient.. even though china brands are not recommended.. if u notice colours start to fade, or the polyps are stretching taller, place them higher..
-
thank you bro.. mine is nothing compared to the many bros and sis out here.. thats right, i placed some zoas for it to spread on my glass.. i do have a few frags of zoas available now.. will take pics for u later..
-
may i ask what fixture are u using? individual reflectors and good ballast are crucial for the effectiveness of t5s.. generally speaking, the longer the polyp of the zoas, it means the zoa is trying to reach for more light, therefore place it higher.. zoas are found in shallow waters in the sea, subjected to tide changes.. this is why we can carry zoas dry as it can survive without water for quite some time.. it needs strong lights and a good current..hope that helps..

u have very nice blue mushrooms.. and it is a nice open brain as well.. but that maroon looks too big for its home .. just a suggestion hope u dun mind, why not swop the maroon out with a pair of smaller percs.. -
sea spider eh.. interesting.. look like aliens vs predators..
-
maybe something to think abt when u upgrade.. its pretty common for the suns to close up when theres no food smell.. i use frozen cyclopeeze to get instant results.. the suns open up in less than 5mins.. agreed.. its alot of work.. i target feed all my suns at least twice a week.. with mixture of seafood and cyclopeeze..

vt_snowman87 replied to yikai's topic in Weekly LFS Stocks Report / LFS Info Centre
u can try GO, in serangoon.. they always have nice red, orange, blue mushrooms.. but its value for quality.. -
yes, sometimes can find gems among cheap stuff as well.. just hoping to retain its colours in the long run.. whenever i feed my fishes the suns will open.. and i have a little trick as well, i placed a wavemaker directly near the suns, so it stimulates the suns to open up more.. (if u see closely enough at the picture, the hydor nano is at the top left corner..)

nano tanks may be small, but it will definitely not lose out in terms of beauty.. bro peacemaker's office tank is a good example.. first of all, nice rockscape because it makes ur tank look larger than a 1.5ft.. u have 1 pretty nice zoa as well, the blue ring one.. oh since urs is a very nano tank, i would suggest seeking out the dead bodies of whatever lifestock that died, so that ur water will not be polluted.. (sixline are known to be bold, since u said it MIA for 3days, chances are high that it up lorry liao) for nice zoas, u will need to get frags from reefers around.. alternative choice is to pay GO a visit haha.. happy reefing!
