vt_snowman87 replied to vt_snowman87's topic in Product Reviews
yea, way cheaper than most LED moonlights.. and it has various number of bulbs.. nope its definitely not dimmable.. just a cheap light source.. but its waterproof, and could be useful for us reefers to use as moonlights.. i think i might be trying this out.. -
Blue 12-LED Aquarium Fish Tank Light Bulb Moonlight
vt_snowman87 replied to vt_snowman87's topic in Product Reviews
bro terry, not really similar leh.. oh and i asked about the wattage of the bub to gauge the strength and brightness of the 'moonlight'.. -
hi all, i came across this on eBay, "Blue 12-LED Aquarium Fish Tank Light Bulb Moonlight" going for ~sgd$20 there is also 4 bulb, and 8 bulb versions.. i am no DIY expert, and was wondering if anyone has used this before as moonlight and does it become dimmer as weeks go by.. i have emailed the manufacturer regarding the wattage per bulb, and if there's warranty.. just thought it might be interesting to share.. if no one has used it before, den i might give it a try and do a review on it.. cheers, vincent http://cgi.ebay.com.sg/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280562853334&fromMakeTrack=true

:thanks: i will think more abt it, right now, still no confidence in flavos.. haven't seen much reefers with success with it, whereas bartletts are a sure-hit.. leaning more towards bartletts, but that would still be the next few months.. not stocking up anymore for now.. let my AT stabilize and develop immunity first.. btw bro, your sunsets are super handsome! love those markings on their foreheads..

wAAAAAAAAAAAA.. thats indeed a long toy you have there! lol.. hope this BAZOOKA will help u KILL all the ICH enemy!
-
bro lcf, was ur flavo feeding? sorry lemon if i'm diluting ur thread..
-
hm.. icic, thanks bro! i guess i have to give it more thought.. dun want to spend money on flavo only to realize they die off one by one.. hm... and also dun want to spend money on bartletts and they run all over the place, making my tank look messy..
-
bro lemon, whats ur experiences with flavoguttatus and bartlettorum? i'm weighing it out btw these 2 coz price wise they are the same.. how about feeding behaviours, ease of weaning onto pellets, and schooling behaviours?
-
agree with the slowing down part.. let your current tank mature first, maybe half a year to 1 year, in the process, there will be much more to experience and learn as u go along.. that way, when u plan for a new bigger tank, u have more experience and will be able to foresee and rectify any potential errors that you might have discovered from your current tank setup.. some problems will only surface after months or maybe years.. so your 3 month-old tank that don't have any problems now, doesnt mean its fool-proof already.. many unexpected issues will come up in the reefing process as the tank matures, even the reefers here are also learning new things as we go along.. take your time bro, there is no hurry to upgrade..

10 !?!?!?!?! btw bro, careful on the stocking, you might be overstocking already, with so many fishes inside.. space, food, and nutrients could be an issue..

looks like some kind of invasive tunicate..

Lemon, this reminds me of my old blue tang.. has a 'black face'.. puzzles me because i believed it developed as it grew.. -
Sps coral tip got stung..
vt_snowman87 replied to braincoral's topic in SPS and Advanced Reefkeepers Forum
the flesh will grow back over the stung part so dun worry abt it.. in fact, it grows faster over the skeleton as compared to new growth.. BUT, unless algae (bryopsis) starts growing on the skeleton already (hard to remove), den maybe its more advisable to to break that part off.. -
LRs is the way to go.. it will definitely help! bro clee, your frags from our frag-exchange before i decommed, now is still thriving in my new tank!
-
the shop in front of ahbeng always has stock of seahares too..
-
bartletts i like! too bad now cannot add any new fish.. bro lemon ur sps-es looking good..
-
hmm.. i never had experience with "breaking-in" the skimmer, usually my skimmers will just work well after a good wash.. but even if it takes time to 'break-in', i guess a few days is more than enough.. just my experience..

"Hi Sifus, i'm not a Sifu, but i guess i'll chip in my 2cents worth I just recently started cycling my new 2ft(30gallon) tank with a 10gallon sump 3days ago. good that u have a sump, it helps Already added 8.5kg of liverock inside and also market prawn. Water a bit cloudy(izzit normal?) normally it wil clear up after 1 day On my skimmer(weipro 2011) 2days ago but its still not skimming anything at the monment. Using a sobo4000 pump(2000liter/hr) to power the skimmer. shouldn't have any problem with this pump, how are the bubbles? Should i wait a little longer or should i try to adjust the water outlet flow to raise the buble level? Thank in advance yes you would need to adjust the outflow valve until it skims to your liking.. be careful though, as weipro valve is quite sensitive, so minute adjustments might cause it to overflow the collection cup, so monitor carefully.." cheers, happy reefing!
