welcome back! external overflow for the win! very nice setup and tank, keen on this tank thread's updates.. hehe..
-
no worries bro.. actually personally i think a 50-50 is too whitish, and it gets slightly yellowish when ur tubes are old.. i tend to use more blues, to enhance colourations in SPS.. whites have greater PAR values, and promotes more growth.. but i'm more of a 'colours' guy.. some of those in RC who uses more blue tubes actually have nicer SPS colourations, from what i FEEL.. just a personal thought..

try CF.. its ur best bet.. frequently see pbts there, and u can test feed with pellets.. and visually compare for diseases.. good luck!

my tanks still a long way from maturing.. great to chat with u too! sorry for the rush that night! catch up again soon! please bro Eniram, my tank is far cry from that.. dun give me too big a hat. regarding mine and my dad's light tube placement i would need to go home to check because i can't remember offhand, now staying in school.. but i do remember the number of tubes: mine: 4 blueplus 3 aquabluespecial 1 true actinic dad's: 6 blueplus 2 aquabluespecial

what anemone exactly? if its a carpet (haddoni) den maybe.. some clownfish are not instantly adapted to carpets.. thus run a risk of getting eaten if your anemone is a carpet..

doe copperband butterfly bother zoa & SPS?
vt_snowman87 replied to m12345y's topic in General Reefkeeping_
copperbands and marginalis, chelmons basically, are very very very safe with SPS.. but there's a slight risk with zoas.. -
too bad me and my dad can't go.. coz its my mum's birthday.. ups for this lucky draw mini party!

im not sure abt a coris wrasse, but i think they are quite safe to a large extent.. with the exception of small inverts, and toppling small rocks.. anyway, here's how i usually catch fishes, especially wrasses: you can try putting live brine shrimp into a ziplock bag (make sure its transparent), and then placing the bag inside the fishtrap box.. this makes sure that the live brine dun flow out of the box, yet remain visible to entice the fishes.. usually curious and greedy fishes can't resist live brine, and will swim into the box to try eat the live brine.. placing the trap near the fish's hangout usually increases ur chances.. good luck!

wts: sunset millepora frags
vt_snowman87 replied to vt_snowman87's topic in Sell off/Pasar Malam Shop
very big thank you to bros onizuka, kiko, and aloysius for the kind words.. no problem guys, hope we have more chances to exchange frags next time! -
i tried before, it is pretty watery even though it says gel.. in my opinion, loctite performs much better.. but in all, BSI-IC gel is still most value for money.. below is my experiences: Daiso glue gel - 3g - $2 (very watery, and half empty usually) Loctite glue gel - 3g - $4+ (good quality, but quick to use up) BSI-IC gel - 20g - $8 (comparable quality to loctite, very much bigger tube and more contents)

vt_snowman87 replied to vt_snowman87's topic in Sell off/Pasar Malam Shop
all sold, thread closed! -
hi all, just trimmed my sunset millepora into smaller size to suit my tank, selling off the excess frags, various sizes from 1 inch onwards, price from $15 onwards. limited frags, while stock last.. view and collect at woodlands ring road. cheers, vincent 92382517 (if u are SMS-ing me, pls include ur nick) below is the pic of the colony just before fragging, thus polyps abit retracted, but all frags have healthy extension.
