  1. couldnt agree more with Lemon.. but even on RC theres alot of debates on whether to QT an AT ornot.. because of its requirements for size, waves, and food, and its not easy to provide a stress-free QT tank..
  2. my AT is with me for half a year, and still has the same problem as the one u described.. the ich still persist even though it is fat as a pig and eats everything.. the dashing is probably of its nature to like strong water currents.. PS. regarding the teardrop growth, i observe my AT has almost doubled its teardrop in 6 months from when i first got it as a juvenile..
  3. very well done, brilliant idea on the suction cups! and beautiful ball of sun!
  4. any kind reefer 65yrs old or older, willing to let me do an interview for a simple school project on life-courses? its for a research essay!

  6. wilson bro, even your holding tank also damn swee ah.. my last copperband i tried to introduce to take care of my aipstasia, kenna whack updownleftright by my AT, dunno whether to add another one to try ornot..

  9. i think i saw a Chevron at LCK today.. about 3".. not sure pricing..
  10. i love the scaping of the rocks, and those gems on the sandbed! not to mention beautiful sps!
  11. hi yellowtang, found this thread super interesting, and i hope you will catch ur 'devil', of course, hopefully no harm will come to it.. just to add on to your "Plan 1": i find this very effective if you use "live food" inside the beta box.. the wriggling baits always tempts better than a dead one.. what i do is, use a transparent zip-lock bag to contain live brine shrimp, this way, the live brine will not flow out of the box, and yet it remains highly visible to your bellus.. next, put the zip-lock into your beta box, and wait.. this usually yields success once the curious fishes attempt to get the live brine.. and not wasting and live brine in the process.. hope that might help a little in case ur night ops fails.. GOOD LUCK!
  12. hates it when frags drop.. onto each other.. -.-

  13. iwarna: just saw some flame, rhomboids, mystery, scarlet pin stripe wrasses etc, evansi, and very little bartletts left..
  14. if im not wrong, it is also known as the lieutenant tang, coz of the 2 bars on its shoulders.. its not rare, CF occasionally will have nice small and medium specimens at the back.. and large ones at the front..
  15. it actually depends on what u hope to achieve.. for growth, put in more whites (higher PAR than blues) and purpleplus (1 is enough, will give a pink wash to tank outlook).. if u are more of a coloration person, use more blueplus.. personally i am a SPS coloration person, so i am using only 2 whites, 5 blueplus, and 1 actinic. * actinic has very useless PAR rating, thus almost useless for coral growth.. it is only utilized because it can bring out a very nice glow in my SPS, especially viewed with blueplus.. just my 2cents worth, hope that helps..
  16. interesting, many thanks to Terry and Straydum for the input! sounds like a very similar behaviour to their carpet cousins..
  17. so.. i've been considering and researching on this new influx of "mini carpets" or "maxi mini" or "stichodactyla tapetum, and i wish to get some input from reefers' experiences with these before plunging in.. 1) how deadly are they as compared to their Haddoni carpet cousins, do their stickiness and sting have a high kill rate on small fishes? 2) do they stay wedged on the sand like their carpet cousins? or do they run a risk of travelling up rockworks? 3) anyone ever successfully hosted clownfishes? i do know they host shrimps and crabs, but none have been reported to host clowns.. any experiments with this? your input is greatly appreciated! btw, found this website thats pretty interesting on maxi-minis: http://www.coralmagazine-us.com/content/mini-carpets-perfect-small-sea-anemones
  18. mine's an easier list.. to each his own, i like the looks of these fellows.. Anthias: Bartlett Butterflyfish: Raccoon Clownfish: Picasso Percula Dwarf Angels: Golden Gobies: Helfrichi Large Angels: Blueface Predator Fish: - Tangs: Achilles Wrasse: Flame Others: Rhomboid
  19. from what i know, firefishes do not shoal well.. they will develop a pecking order and hierachy, and u will eventually be left with a pair, or 1 dominant one..
  20. wao.. nice work on the pair of AT.. impressive!
  21. fantastic pick, that is an awesome clam.. hope that 1 day your old crocea will decide to revive! all those SPS.. superb!
  22. depending on how big ur tank is, it is usually insignificant.. i keep some red bamboo in my tank for my AT to graze on too.. even when they turn sexual, i have no issues..
  23. Mr Achilles is angry.
