Upgraded to K4 as i going to try some SPS. pump is abt 1.5yrs. anyone interested? going for $60. 1 smaller sure grip magnet going for $25 deal in simei.

anyway what was the prob with ur K3? recently mine off n on back. pump wun run. tot spoil liao. took the pump apart, found out inside too dirty. after cleaning as gd as new

i guess u never look hard enuff.....my fren bought a LR that is 2ft high n 1ft wide. if u willing to pay for quality LR, drop by coral farm. i m sure they have what u wan.

now for the retrofit "DIY", a simple idea but works well......

thanks to wilson, i gt this today to fully control my lights.

1 reason i changed to retrofit is becos i can on 2 tubes at a time instead. as for the reflector, i guess it does help abit too. the hopar did it job for my tank, juz that i juz wanted to try something else. the K4 is much better of cos, but due to the increase in flow, K3 3200L/hr vs 4600L/hr, i have to remove my seio too. which is kind of gd news for mi, 1 less powerhead in the main tank........

his tank is 2 x 1 x 1.5. is actually more than enuff already. my tank is 2.5ft ht n i onli use 6 tubes. bros who have seen my tank can prove that T5 is not as weak as it seems

i tried using ATI blue plus for 18mths. but that is me as i have 4 white tubes as main lighting

i feel for 4ft tank, usually ppl mislook on wavemaker, return pump n skimmer. a gd skimmer n chiller will easily hit 1.5k already.

when looking at my tank, found that K3 was not powerful enuff. decided to get the K4 today to replace the K3 n at the same time change my hopar T5 to 4x39W retrofit. did some DIY n the retrofit became 6x39W fixture. taking a smoke break now. will update with pic later

my K3 used for coming 2yrs. still going strong....from my understanding, tunze n hydor flow in diff way. tunze is more narrow n direct flow, hydor is wide flow. that the reason y i prefer hydor to tunze.

how come ur K3 so fast spoil? no more warranty?

i was wondering abt this too when i was considering to change from my 250W to T5. n if u notice, i have a clam on my sand bed n i been using T5 for close to 1yr. the clam seem to grow also. so i guess 6 T5s setup is okie for my tank.

i went from MH to T5 n never look back for my LPS tank.
