  5. hi, i feed him with mysis in the evening, afternoon will be pellets of diff brand. once in a while feed with 2 little fish seaweed n also red bamboo.....
  6. not brand new lah.....but thinking of selling away as i may be moving end of the yr. headache man....lol
  7. depends on ur tank design....usually need to wait 1 day for silicon to cure b4 u put in fresh water to test for leak rather than cleaning.....after that u can drain out if everything is gd. u can ask iwarna for nsw delivery. else u can try getting few pax of normal sand n 1 pax of live sand.
  8. stating ur budget will be better. n not to pour cold water on u, for marine, nice n affordable dun go together....at least to mi it is....i waited 2 yrs b4 i change to a nicer tank
  9. not much diff. out sump model can be use in sump too, but in sump can onli be in sump lol.......... for 4 ft u need a big skimmer but u have to fit it outside....no way a decent skimmer is 1ft in height
  10. 1ft is too small to keep tangs......
  11. 1ft is too small to keep tangs......
  12. wow that alot of feeding a day. i onli feed 3 times max for 28 fishes.......but evening i feed 8 cubes of mysis....my cheapo china skimmer seem to do a gd job on maintaining my NO3. of cos this is done with a help of denitrator. mostly the sk2 will do a better job as the NO3 still abit high to my liking. victor juz finish scaping for mi, 1 mth later will be bz mth for mi again..... ur skimmer looks gd for a start. mind PM me the price?
  13. seriously, not more than 400 is abit hard to get the stuff u wan.......live sand cost abt $50 per pax, n i believe u need abt 4pax. rocks will be ard $5/kg - $16/kg depending on grade......if u gt low budget, try to get those normal sand instead of live sand. rocks can try buying from reefer who decom. salt also depends on ur budget. but if u wan to speed up ur cycling, use nsw....after that use salt mix for water change. never use tap water to mix ur salt, else u going to face alot of algea prob later.
  14. most likely becos of gravity feed lead to that. constant feeding is the key to these skimmers. anyway, since we already spend so much on the tank, y save juz a few $ a mth for the feeder pump? hope ur new skimmer will be ur last skimmer. i will be running the sk2 for my 4ft. hopefully it will be able to perform well after all the gd reviews
  15. m quite surprise that both sm200 n 850 din work well for u
  16. read that ur neon goby showing signs of ich. so could be that also.....
  17. can try using a sand shifting star to solve this prob. also use only DI water for ur water changes
  18. when ur water level is higher, u will have softer "waterfall" sound
  19. quite noisy leh. not like the one i heard b4...very silent compared to the one in the video
  20. it will be better if u state how much u willing to spend. from there, we can help u work out brand n model. no pt we recommend u a gd skimmer but u find it too ex
  21. is the foaming pump producing lots of bubbles? close the air valve, then open it after u start the foaming pump
