it is a insump skimmer i guess....in order for constant skimming, the water level in ur sump must be constant.....

u can juz break the cover open empty the resin n refill new ones. much faster. but personally i find it too troublesome so i rather spend more....get the original replacement

on rock n on sand....both ways is okie. slow to med current, med lighting....target feeding once a wk with small pc of prawn but if u dose coral food, then it's okie not to target feed it. i fed mine with small pellets cos lazy to feed with prawn.

dun mind me saying this, for 6ft tank skimmer, no way u can get at $100.....juz look at decent skimmer for 3 or 4ft tank, most cost at least $200.

for fish only, u do not have to use MH...juz 2 tubes of T5 is good enuff

ur NO3 is too high for these fishes...try to reduce ur NO3 n have ur perimeters stable. as long as the fish is stress free, it will not fall sick easily. at the mean time, dose more bacteria. i used to think how bacteria can help fishes to be healthy. but after i start dosing them, fishes become more lively and do not get ich often. add the rest of the fishes that u wan b4 adding the AT or PBT. right now i cant add anymore fishes due to my PBT, no matter what fish, wrasse, angel....sure kena whacked jialet jialet by the PBT.

sorry abt ur fish but the thing is sometimes fish die due to no reason....i had a black tang in my tank for 8 mths and it die suddenly too... 1 of my radiant too....
