decom is to take a break, recover, and come back with a bang

my tank juz crashed cos of my stupid ext controller too....lost a few nice fishes n corals....be strong....

not that some fish cant tolerate QT, but rather some fishes need the room to swim so trapping them in a small tank do them more harm than good. last time i was like u, wanted to get up QT, get a spare skimmer, but in the end still find it too troublesome. some fishes as u know need colder water, so gt to set up chiller for the QT. Fan is not good for small tank as it make the perimeters swing too much... also although with copper, it very good against ich, but u gt to measure it everyday to make sure u dun under or over dose. we have hobby to help destress ourselves. but if reefing is so troublesome, i rather i dun reef....anyway if u wan to try copper, can get from u. i buy liao never gt the chance to use. its brand new. never even open the seal yet....see when u going iwarna let me know. i go there pass to u

u need dosing pump or CR to help with the CA n KH.....in SPS tank, this 2 drop pretty fast n there no way u can keep up with manual dosing....

what size of QT r u planning to make? some fishes will feel stress if they r "trapped" in a small area for 1 mth....i skip QT cos i cant add a proper QT system in my house. i tried a powder blue in a 2ft QT b4, end up it gt so stress up n die....

Hi all, i posting to see if anyone is interested to take over this tank so that i can plan on my next move....details r as follow. i gt this tank from janet last yr. for those who go to jalan kayu aquamarin, this is their sps display tank. 4ft * 2ft * 26inch(ht) with ext overflow. piping used is FIP. I am looking at selling as a whole set. this include the following. 1) main tank (front and side crystal glass), sump, piping, cabinet 2) aquabee 7000 return pump 3) skimz FR with aquabee 1000 feeder pump 4) skimz SK2 skimmer rated for up to 1500L 5) water top up tank with aquabee 300 pump 6) 4 * 4ft T5 retrofit with 2 * 3ft diy T5 7) Hailea HC500a chiller (1/2hp and in use for only 4 mths) Now here the term and condition. Interested buyer must be able to wait as i m still running this tank...if there is buyer for this tank, then i will start my decom. Do not PM me if u r planning to get the tank within this wk or next wk. For ppl who r interested in LS, pls let me settle this thing here then i sort out the LS that i m going to sell. As for ppl who wish to know why i decom, i think some of u know what happen to my fishes recently, i decided to take a break from reefing...i may be back with a bigger tank, or may stop reefing...... thank u for reading my thread.

possible but not worth the time n effort when u can sometimes buy cheaply from here....

let juz say i felt guilty for causing the death of both the lineatus n flame wrasse, of my 27 fishes in my tank, the one that die is always my fav....i always wanted to get the drop in coil chiller, but due to my sump design, there no space left. so have to take the hard way, decom now, when i get over the death of the fishes then i come back again...and again from dec till april, i was almost doing up my tank on my offdays, until this mth i tot i finally can sit back n enjoy. who knows such a thing happen...if u ask me to start over again now, i will not be able to do it...body and mind too tired liao....after reefing for 3yrs +, i guess it's time to take a short break

MWTS only at the moment as i wan to make sure he goes to someone who know how to take care of fishes...i gt him from a reefer who kept him for abt 1yr+, i keeping him for over 2yrs....so he is super stable....the thing is he is very big, abt 6". so i will prefer to let go to someone who have at least 5ft with lots of swimming space. price i m looking at is $650, but this is open to neg. reason i m letting him go is becos i m decomming my 4ft. viewing of fish is at pasir ris..tks for reading.

lastest update, 50% of corals dying, i think....threw away all true octo torch n frogspawn. will take a break n if i can put the drop in coil, i will restart n hopefully go full sps this time round since most of my lps dead.....tks for the kind words of everyone...

i m running 2 1262 returns 1 of it feed into the chiller, 1 aquabee 5000 skimmer n 1 ehiem 2k compact for skimmer feeder, 1 aquabee 1000 for my FR, 1 ehiem 1000 compact for my denitrator, 1 24w light for my chaeto, 6 tubes of T5, 1 mp40w, 1 hydor k4 and 1 seio 620.....

i m using 6 tubes of T5 as i m keeping some SPS. and still not enuff for SPS....ideal is 8 tubes n above. ur heatload is very low or ur place is very windy? even with ext controller, my chiller rest the most 2.5hrs.... in the afternoon, rest abt 1 hr + nia
