  3. hehe went down yesterday and found out their corals are resonably priced and therefore i got myself a branch and a pink tube anemone which is very very beautiful also managed to find out that they are selling T4(china) and it looks exactly the same as a T5 but not as powerful i recon anyway it's about $50 inclusive of the tube and case... using digital e-ballast... btw there might be new corals and fish in today sat 27/12/2003 'cheers!

  7. haha now i on my actinic or not it does not make a difference T5 too powerful i'm using powerlux... btw if i get 2*ab and 1actinic would it be sufficient for corals to grow?
  8. this are the bulbs avalible: 1.ATI T5 Actinic Blue 2.ATI T5 AquaBlue Special 3.ATI T5 Blue Plus 4.ATI T5 Sun Pro 5.ATI/Narva T5 Nature i'm currently using 2aquablue special and one sunpro... yours is blue plus izit the same as actinic blue? and if i add the blue plus would my configrations look whiter?
  9. get salt like marine envirometn but it's rather ex... i've downgraded to red sea and it's easy to dissolve and cheap! hehe the package would have the instructions... usually i add with "feel" can always adjust later if it's too high change abit water too low add more salt
  10. hi i thought aquablue = aquablueplus? not the same?
  11. hi guys i just aquired my ATI T5 yesterday and i think the default configuration of 2*aquablue + 1*sunpro is very yellow and does not look impressive i'm thinking of changing the bulbs but not sure which to get. hope bros and sis here with expirence would be able to aid me...
  12. cabons are used to remove colourings in water and metal in tap water... they also help to reduce the smell from the tank. it must be replaced often about 3-4mths other wise you'll start to leach the once absorbed stuff back into the tank hope this helps
  13. btw this is the link---> http://www.eaquanature.com/store/default.php?cPath=34 click on ATI and Deltec
  14. hi i just upgraded my pl to T5 yesterday and it's super bright and corals are opening i'm using 3*39w ATI and IMO it's cooler then 2*24w pl... do consider a T5 instead of a pl... you will eventually save more but if you have $$$ go for MH
  15. it might off set as the requirements in a sump except for lesser volume of water unless a super tall and wide tank hehe another thing to note is that there'll be no place you'll be able to put algae unless you buy a refigium and the only person i know selling is ian... seriously i'm thinking of getting one after CNY by then i should have spare $$$ ok here's a link for the i-ref http://www.eaquanature.com/store/product_i...products_id=512 btw forget to mention that your return pumps and skimmers would take up some space in your display tank and that would be very unsightly
  16. are you saying that you added a air pump at the air-intake for the venturi skimmer? maybe i should try it too hehe
  17. wah i got my in-line four cooling fans for $70+++ awt brand you using single or double? or four

    i-ref

wondering if any bros here have the i-ref in action? coz i'm thinking of getting it soon to control my algae problems hehehe if possible post some pix on what you put inside oh yah need ian's contacts if possible
  19. dude thanks gonna make my way down!!!! do they happen to sell T5?
  20. went down yesterday but then was dissappointed!!! could not find the shop leh wat are the shops near it?
  21. it's not a must to have those... but it's the most effective way and that the total volume of the water will be larger then those of your tank only and boils down to one thing it'll be easier to maintain... good thing about the sump: easy maintanence, more space for equipment like skimmer(s), return pumps, uv sterilizer etc etc... adding top off water in the sump, suppliments blah blah blah oh yah dun forget DSB!!! as for refugium: it concentrates the food for the algae inside your refugium so that chances off red, green, brown algae blooming in your main tank is reduced... can be purchased from a fellow reefer if you dun wish for a sump it's called the I-ref or something but then after i mentioned so much i'm neither using a sump nor a refugium hehe... and that red and green algae are starting to bloom guess i'm gonna get my hands on one of the I-ref
  22. it's sold in singapore saw the poster at sam yick aqurium @ marine parade
  23. whao so much snails would it contribuite anything bad for that amount of snails? otherwise i'm getting more
