Weird skin on Naso Tang.. Please Help!
bgrking replied to bgrking's topic in Disease treatment/parasite/pest control
Thanks all for the sound advices. My Naso tang has cured by itself remarkably! -
Thanks zipp86, recently they always topple off so i locate them to a low floor area but with strong direct flow. i am still monitoring their progress.

My Naso Tang has this weird skin on it's left side only. It started from a small patch now become quite big. Just tonight i discovered it has a few red patches. Previously no red patches. It swims normally and eats like a pig... eats red bamboo, formula 2 pellets and garlic mysis... Please help me to identify it's illness and how to remedy it? Will it survive? Anyone knows what causes it? Thanks!

i believe is the flowrate. if it receives too strong flow it will hardly open up, but if it receives moderate flow it will fully blossom. assuming u feed ur corals regularly.

You get a pail of tapwater and dip the coral in for not more than 5 minutes. during the dip, you might want to shake the coral so that unwanted pests will drop off the coral quicker. Be prepared to wear gloves.

Hi BravoB, 1. Your angels will peck on corals. In fact all angels and butterflies will eat corals, except flame angel which is 50% chance of eating corals too. 2. Your goby that died is most probably died by heart attack because cleaner shrimps do not hunt for prey, they are scavengers. 3. Your tank is too small to house angel fish. 4. Maroon clowns are territorial and will bully other clown species, maroon clown will not bully tangs. 5. Your anemone that died issit due to temperature above 29 degree celcius? 6. What is your salinity, ammonia, nitrite and nitrate? 7. What is your temperature range? Considering we are having a hot period now all the way till september it will just keep getting hotter. You might want to employ a DC fan or a chiller. 8. How long is your lighting period? I try my best to give you advise. Cheers, bgrking

Pacific Reef just came in shipment from bali -
i believe the pump is too powerful for freshwater thus, the blades cutting the freshwater easily. If used on a saltwater, there will be a difference. It was proven to me by ah kwang from farmmart in his marine shop.

Hi peacemaker, You can purchase empty shells from any flower shops. You can introduce empty shells into your tank to prevent future attacks How's your cheato been progressing now? With added flow it should thrive Cheers, bgrking

Hi MadScientist, Yes and no. They will attack most corals, but some they will leave alone, they are beautiful, but dont take any chances. Cheers, bgrking

Cure for Ich/Parasite
bgrking replied to nakazoru's topic in Disease treatment/parasite/pest control
Hi everyone, Perhaps that purchase of fish must be in pairs at least so that they will be less stress when seeing their own kind together in tank? just a thought Cheers, bgrking -
Hi MadScientist, You refer to the bubbles in main tank or sump tank? You can add a sponge to reduce air bubbles. Easily sold in any fishshops Cheers, bgrking
