I got one cleaner wrasses too.. but luckily never disturb my clam so far... clam shouldn't keep closing too often.. definitely not healthy... They will end up shrink smaller and smaller.. Probably, relocate them... I think they step in wrasses territory...If not you have to seperate them... Below are some links about clam profile anf also from reefers who might also facing the same problem as you... http://www.ultimatereef.net/forums/showthread.php?t=160526 http://web1.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?p=3454716 http://animal-world.com/encyclo/reef/clams/information/TridacnaClamCare.php Cheers..

Will Red Leg Hermit Crab control diatoms
CFOh replied to mengyang_neo's topic in New to the Marine Aquaria Hobby
They are omnivores and also scavenger.. I kept blue leg hermit before.. they are good for clear algae and detritus on rock... but the cons about them, they do topple rock and also killing snail for for shell also for fun Cheers... -
I prefer T output to 2 side middle or from 2 side left/right.. 1 output seem like a bit wasted... Cheers..

Thanks.. Yes.. it is Maxima... now ~3inches+.. being keeping it from baby ~1 inchse size.. Cheers...

base on my understanding, beside flow rate deficiency, we also knowing green algae potentially exhibited asexual reproduction especially under stress environment.. If we allowed them wild grown overlapping each others. Under layer which lack of light expose might need to rely on asexual reproduction.. also decaying in long run.. all these may resulted water parameter swing.. Just my hypothesis.. Cheers..

Using pump with lower flow rate than stated in a chiller
CFOh replied to MbmC's topic in Product Reviews
I am using 1/4 HP (Model DBE-200) with Eheim 1250 for my 3ft tank.. So far look ok... except need to clean the pump every 3 to 4 month.. cause I am using the eheim filter at pump inlet.. I found the chiller efficiency drop via debris build up trapping in filter wool... my temperature set to 26C... otherwise so be safe... In other words depend to our tank sizes and heat induce in our tank also critical... try to calculate using chiller calculator supply by JBJ... Add more buffer to your input so that we will not under estimate the chiller output.. http://chiller.jbjlighting.com/prod_chiller_size.asp for eg., Cheers.. -
probably try balling method.. easier to setup..... come in 3 channel or 4 channel type.... Or you can try to DIY by using dosing pump and timer... Cheers..
-
If grown in your overflow.. Is your lighting above your overflow? if yes then I believe your one should be normal green algae.. Is ok to keep it.. good for nutrient export.. is actually something serve like "Algae Scrubber" function.. I have that on top of my overflow too...Sometime, I spotted nice algae in red color as well... but you need to trim them once getting thicker... otherwise, will become reverse function.. and may result your flow rate deficiency.... Cheers...

ic.. probably diff overflow concept.. I only siphon top part of overflow.. cause have some netting and wool in between to prevent fish jump in that area and also filter out debris... therefore I only need short stick at the end part.. may be for your case need longer.. Cheers
-
Here is the fold able partition, just like lego concept.. you can add/remove or even odd shape.. see whether suit for you.. you can get this from C328... Cheers..
-
For sump I am using motor pump type siphon as pic below.. after that using the mini siphon as finishing.. Cheers..
-
Thanks for sharing... Actually I did search for you clementi hardward shop, Woodland 888 and Vista point and West Coast area. they only sell grey and white color pipe... Just notice your main objective is looking for something to siphon/cleaning purpose.. I am using mini siphon below for my top part of overflow and sump... the tube slightly bigger than air pump hose... you can reach any area you like and yet flexible...I found quite effective and cost less than 2 purple notes.. Cheers...
