Thanks bro Sunny for the update.... Any idea how much is the Lineatus in your pics cost? swee... Any more left? :b.... Thanks... -
try this... I can't find it locally... but can order from marinedepot online.... or any bros can suggest why to get them locally? cheers... I like the design concept and ergonomic. very slim..... http://www.magfloat.net/telas/pagina.php?id=26 Below pics extract from ReefKeeping Magazine.... Cheers and Happer Reefing....

I think the cons by doing this... the sponge on magnet with out shape easier and getting thinner faster in long run... and eventually scratching glass surface as well.... I think also losing your cleaning power by inducing slip effect... Cheers and Happy Reefing....

Pls find info from Skimmer 101 and Wiki.... beckett skimmer works similar to a downdraft skimmer except it uses a beckett pond injector and a pressure rated pump to make a great deal of foam. http://www.hawkfish.org/snailman/skimmer101.htm Beckett skimmer The Beckett skimmer has some similarities to the downdraft skimmer but introduced a foam nozzle to produce the flow of air bubbles. The name Beckett comes from the patented foam nozzle developed and sold by the Beckett Corporation (United States), although similar foam nozzle designs are sold by other companies outside the United States (e.g. Sicce (Italy)). Instead of using the plastic media that is found in downdraft skimmer designs, the Beckett skimmer uses design concepts from previous generations of skimmers, specifically the downdraft skimmer and the venturi skimmer (the Beckett 1408 Foam Nozzle is a modified 4 port venturi) to produce a hybrid that is capable of using powerful pressure rated water pumps and quickly processing large amounts of aquarium water in a short period of time. Commercial Beckett skimmers come in single Beckett, dual Beckett, and quad Beckett designs. Well engineered Beckett skimmers are quiet and reliable but the powerful pumps used in larger Beckett skimmer designs can take up additional space, introduce additional noise, and use more electricity than less powerful pumps. Unlike the Downdraft and Spray Induction skimmers, Beckett skimmer designs are produced by a number of companies in the United States and elsewhere and are not known to be restricted by patents. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Protein_skimmer#Beckett_skimmer Cheers

"Introduction to Engineering Material pg 422 2nd paragraph" by Vernon John Cheers and Happy Reefing...

Hi, Just share something from my bookshelf... "Introduction to Engineering Material pg 423-425" by Vernon John about Corrosion, Electrode potential (Anodic V Cathodic) and galvanic series in sea water... In summary: for some guideline, do not used material towards anodic (pg 423)... another words whichever, material shows Electrode potential < 1V, anodic material tends exhibited more prone to oxidation... or rust/corroded in layman term.... That is the reason Aluminium, Copper both are not advisable.... the galvanic series in sea water (pg 424).... Titanium shows the best 2nd after gold in cathodic category... Therefore, in general.. titanium corrosion resistance is higher than others.. but they have their own weakness..which doesn't effect us much .. That is also some other terminology... probably we can discuss later.... Hopes above few lines helps explain some of your doubt.... Cheers and Happy Reefing...

Thanks BFG.... Just notice the feedback... Sorry, I didn't address properly what I mean.... I think DUCADOS catch some point..... cause colleage time we r using "Fe" metal base for metal sheet works (it is cheap).... Therefore, I believe it can be fold even easier than normal metal sheet... As compare to "Fe", "Ti" much lower in term of Rockwell performance and also Young's modulus characteritic. and it is slightly harder than "Al" but still far softer than "Fe" in term of numbers..This is why I say "Soft"... Cheers....

Oh... Really.. I regular there too.... Haha.. must be missed.. May be ask Auntie this weekend... Thanks... Ya.. Most of my bumble bee snail get from coral farm... I almost got 20pcs in my tank... Anyway, here is the profile of Hydatina spp. (from book "What Invertebrates? A buyer's guide for marine aquariums": pg 133) Thanks for sharing... Cheers..

Hai, you can try Iwarna... Usually saw them keep some 2nd hand "Reef Octopus Beckett Skimmer" in they store.. Cleaned and looks new... This skimmer is affordable and reasonable skim power.... I am using Reef Octopus Beckett as well... so far, quite satisfied with it... Cheers...

Hi, Manage to find some review on US Marinedepot user review on IceProbe... The total score only Average (3 star).. You may review the user feedback on good and Bad about this product..... Oh, I sold mine less than half year usage... forgot which bro bought it from me (all my pm's gone during forum upgrade).. + delivery to him... Hihi... I installed it in my DIY sump cabinet.. resulted over heat cabinet issue, I have to open the cabinet door all the time... not very presentable... Therefore, I decide to let go... Haha.. think back.. During Nano tank... I tried fan, ice cube, ice probe, DIY's... end up still chiller the best..... for TEC degradation.. as My previous work place used lots of Peltier cooler for cooling tester purposes.. same fundamental as IceProbe....I realize we need to replace them every one or two years....therefore, I believe the design integration not really durable yet... And further more we are in air-con environment.. expected dryer.... imagine, uses it at home.. higher humidity with TEC Cold and Heat thermal shock lead more condensation.... become another issue to handle in electronic circuit in long term usage....... base on the cooling capability Vs cost.. you need to decide which one to choice... Just my opinion.... The best, consult ReefDepot for their opinion... above just share my personal experience..... Pls find here web link on how Peltier works... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thermoelectric_cooling Cheers and Happy reefing....
