Ya, sg 1.03 is too high.. might be due to evaporation rate Versus Salt Water replenish sg level during WC.. So try lower new salt mix sg level.. slowly bring down yr sg level to 1.023 to 1.025.. Measure both tank and new water when WC.. Also take notes on yr temperature.. Try not exist 30C as your new system lack of self-sustain capability.. Do u see white spot on Tang body? Try Garlic solution on your fish food to promote their appetite.. anyway, try avoid tang for new setup.. normally, they r prone to marine ichs.. unless we do proper preparation... Some aquarists report that after a few days of using only actinic light their cyanobacteria bloom had great diminished. Siphon out affected area's upper quarter inch of sand and replace with new sand. Often this removes an area where there was a concentration of organic material. Also about the chemical effects... The antibiotic Erythromycin sulfate or Tetracycline will kill cyano bacteria. Even though these chemicals may eliminate this unwanted pest the first time around, further problem blooms may become more resistant to the drugs. It is really much wiser to get to the root of the problem than to put antibiotics into the aquarium. Bear in mind that antibiotics negatively affect system biological filtration. Synchronous Mass Coral Spawning 2010, Singapore by Karenne Tun Below text from Vimeo... The 2010 mass coral spawning event at Raffles Lighthouse, Pulau Satumu, Singapore, was one of the best observed in recent years. We were out on the reef from the 3rd to the 6th night after the March 31st full moon to observe and record the event. In total, we observed at least 25 species and over 200 colonies go off over the 4 nights within a 400m2 area. And that's pretty impressive by any standard. I managed to catch the spawning using the video function of my new toy - the Canon S90, with a FIX Aluminium housing and Scubacam's LED video lights. The lil' camera is pretty impressive.
