  6. U can play around with below calculator after mixture ready, choose "Randy Recipes 1 and 2" under supplement cell also define yr desired and current Mg plus tank Volume.. http://reef.diesyst.com/cf/magnesiumcf.html
  7. Hi, received some pm on above topic, personally I am not using Randy formula, Just read up from books and magazine, above just imperative.. U can try below chart for reference.. As can see the coefficient on MgSO4 to rising SO4 is significant lower more than 9time compare to MgCl2 rising Cl2 with same amount of Mg achieved.. U can try the transfer function below to achieve yr desire Sulfate/Chloride rise % ppm (%) Vs Mg gain in ppm. Hope above helps.. Cheers.. Cheers..
  8. Sorry for late reply.. The ratio is ~ 97% Mgcl2 ~3% MgSo4 for example in one gallon water.. Mix 7.25 tea cups magnesium chloride and 0.75 tea cup Epsom salts/magnesium sulfate together.. Cheers..
  9. Below from Yahoo news.. http://sg.news.yahoo.com/blogs/singaporescene/elderly-woman-mistreated-nursing-home-174803277.html Two staff are seen carrying the old woman and throwing her onto her bed. (YouTube) Elderly woman mistreated at nursing home A nursing home along Braddell Road has been suspended with effect from 12 April from admitting new patients after a patient was reported to have been mistreated. The incident at Nightingale Nursing Home came to light after a video of a patient being mistreated was sent to local broadcaster Mediacorp. The footage was shot by a hidden camera on a patient's bedside. In the video, an elderly woman patient is seen sitting stark naked beside a bed with the room ceiling fans on. She is then picked up by two hospital staff and thrown onto a bed, before a staff is shown slapping her on her mouth when she wailed in pain. Watch what happened here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D-Y0HEYKjso
  10. Actually, own preference.. but I suggested both.. Pls find some discussion on mg @ bro dnsfpls thread.. Cheers... Below extracted from the discussion: Magnesium Chloride (MgCl2) PH ~7 which tends to precipitate more in Salt water, the insoluble and residuals may resulted PH drop due to other leftover ions. Epsom salt/Magnesium sulfate, MgSo4 PH ~5-6.X which are more acidic than MgCl2, it exhibited better solubility & serve as Buffer as the same time.. But with same amount of Magnesium (ppm) achieved, MgSo4 raised sulfate tremendously comparing the rate of MgCl2 rising Chloride. Therefore the other reason of mixing MgCl2 & MgSo4 is to avoid increasing of both chloride and sulfate in our tank water also balance between them. That's why many product of Magnesium blend with magnesium chloride and magnesium sulfate to achieve optimum result.. Cheers..
  11. Ok.. got it. this one? I believe SimLim Tower shld hv this too... http://www.dealextreme.com/p/12w-3500k-800lm-warm-white-led-emitter-metal-strip-12-14v-80310 U can get the power supply @ "Continental Electronic Enterprise" @ SimLim Tower too... Cheers..
  12. Very hard to control salt crystallization in long run... The best is to case them.. 12V or 12W? 12W or 16W is very powerful... You might need high rating power supply.. If too hot, the selection of acrylic tube need to take note too, probably need to add heat sink... But, I only see 10W Max strip this type so far.. Cheers..
  13. Can't remember exactly since more than 1.5 years ago... I think shld be less than $20 for LED's? and Power Supply depends the rating... Normally, I paid higher for Power Supply ~$30-40.. U shld visit SimLim Twr as the address given.. They hv various of choices... Or if u interested get from ROC.. Let me know.. The acrylic tube is to protect the LED's... What is yr objective? for coral growth or Visual effects only? I found this types of LEDs just good enough for visual effects or some Zoas with short distance... If u need this for corals, I suggested those 3W came with lens or amplifier.. Cheers..

Ya, that's one of the reason do not add too many of them in yr reactor... also they r carbon base media...
  15. Hihi, Then shld try Aquatics International (AI) or Oceanic Aquarium only then.. But I read from Chuisui.com recently (http://chuisui.com/viewthread.php?tid=15164), looks like AI nothing much.. But I understand GO used to collaborated with AI. Recently, heard GO will start a new LFS there soon. And Oceanic Aquarium normally shipment ~Friday.. Probably, call before visit.. Cheers...
  16. Scientists Discover Extinct Sea Cow Fossil In Philippines Below from redorbit. http://www.redorbit.com/news/science/2059807/scientists_discover_extinct_sea_cow_fossil_in_philippines/ Italian scientists have discovered the bones of an extinct sea cow species that lived over 20 million years ago in a Philippines cave. Limestone rock above the waters of an underground river on the island of Palawan revealed several ribs and spine parts of the aquatic mammal, says expedition head Leonardo Piccini, a geologist from the University of Florence. The discovery of the extinct sea cow species was announced during a symposium at the Philippine presidential palace. Piccini says that it was a rare find in the region from the Miocene era, which is about 20 million years ago. “It’s the first remains of this kind of animal in the area, so it is important in reconstructing the habitat and the diffusions of this animal in the Miocene,” he says. Such fossil finds in the East have been limited to India, with some fragmented finds in Madagascar, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and the Indonesian island of Java, reports AFP. “The specimens (found) in the Palawan Island represent the first from the Philippines and the easternmost occurrence in the region,” according to the expedition paper. Research by Fedrico Panti and Paolo Forti, a member of the Palawan expedition, suggests that the fossil specimen belong to one of two extinct plant-eating sirenia, or sea cows. These extinct sirenia would have been about six feet long, they say. Today, two sea cow species are still living: the dugong of the Indo-Pacific region and the manatees of the Atlantic basin. The paper seeks to have the Philippine government protect the area of the find in the Puerto Princesa subterranean river, which is currently heavily marketed to tourists as a major vacation destination. “The fossil is in the rock, in the cave,” he explains to AFP. “We cannot remove it and we don’t want to extract it. We would like to wait (for) when the technology will allow us to study the fossil without extracting it.”

  18. Try get something or tube like below to house your LED's.... Cheers..
  19. Hi, Terry, Pls find below the similar LED as u looking for, I was using 5W previously.. Yr unit is 3W and U can actually get 5W or 10W which is available.. Depends yr application.... Try housed it with plastic tube casing or any other case... to prevent from oxidation accelerated @ salt environment... Below unit ~1.5 year.. as u can see the LED strip begin to detach itself from aluminium bar... Cheers..
  20. Hi, yr LED shld be DC input.... DC power adapter will do.. Try "Continental Electronic Enterprise".. Unit #B1-25, SimLim Tower.. look for mr TH Khoo.. u can consult him or his bro...or contact them @ 62922032/62934674.. They do carry above LED... But personally, I used above design.. Potential of lights detach from aluminium bar/heatsink in salt water environment if did not house in a casing...Will show u some pics later on... Cheers..

Above flow shld be just fine. Hydrogen sulphide(H2S) prefer dead water/super low flow.. therefore, dripping system like Sulphur reactor or DSB has more tendency on this if not proper maintaining in long run.. Cheers.
