Ya, the human volume through their shop is so high especially on weekends that they only have time to pack your selected items and collect money. I got my C0 sand from Clementi F**r*st. Ran magnet through 10 bags and no metal found. (Caveat : that does not necessarily meant no metal escape detection). Returned 4 bags to them on CNY eve due to overbought. Should still be there and they open from tomorrow (Monday).

Well, that lf will may be trying not to feed the LS whenever possible to minimise costs. Also fishes get bought by ppl so fast they don't even have time to poo. So that lfs may not have chance to realise his fishes poo.

junyong, Cannot be maturing DSB. that probably takes months at least, if not years. My setup about finishing cycling. Amomnia, nitrite, at lowest of colour chats of test kits. Nitrate alos very low, as measured today. Planning to put in LS soon if tests still shows similar results. When saw the black thing growing, got worried. Hopefully the setup of the DSB is correct.

Hi, I have a DSB consisting of about 3 inches of C0 sand at bottom of tank, followed by 2 inches of C1 sand on top. Recently, black patches started to be seen growing from bottom of tank upwards in the C0 sand, but it does not extend to the C1 sand above (yet ?). Can anyone advise what is happening and if not normal, how to rectify the situation ?

Think the cheaper LR may be uncured ones. Unless you are starting your tank cycling with the LRs, you may have to try to clean them first like brushing away the mud/weeds/crabs.... Saw some at the Toa Payoh shop when the LR just delivered. Have coraline but may need to keep them in separate tubs to cycle for a number of days before able to put into tank. But well worth it it you can stand the scrubing and stench.

Thanks Wei. Seen your link to your SH photos. Very nice. Notice you only put in LR for them to cling to, no long grass. Will they get hurt against the LR ? Have you finish the SH husbandry writeup ? Believe his stand is WI stand and not cabinet-type. Think you should be able to hang the skimmer onto the stand/tank as the skimmer has a hook. You have to take care of the outlet pipe though if it is not next to the tank/sump. However, I had many advise from pl here to better put into sump to avoid leaks.

Height is 27.5" from base of skimmer to top of the cup. Without the cup, from base to neck is 22.5". $70 but far from where you stay. Can guess where already ?

Think during CNY, very high demand. some shops pre-cooked them before sending to the shops for futher BBQ in front of customers. Maybe even outsource the source, that is probably why all taste about same during this time of year. If you can find those that really BBQ on the spot from raw, then think they taste fresher. Is your water level very near the top edge of tank ? Snail do crawl just above the water level but they will not wander far from it as it may dry up. Maybe your snails are trying to see what is over the edge of the tank since water level so near the brim and 'accidentally' fell over, as some of us humans do.

Fireglass has lower refractive index, meaning because of the material used, light (hence colour of LS and things inside tank) will not get absorbed/bend by the glass too much, thus somewhat change the color as we see it with our eyes, giving very clear see-through vision. Hi all, Those around the cheaper $ range, normally I saw is really uncured. Comes together with all the sewweeds, worms, crabs and what-have-you. Any feedback from ppl bought cleaner rocks and where ? Anyone know/experienced procedures and fastest way to get rid of all those 'free-riders', especially if the rock seem to be getting blackish after a couple of days of cycling ? Just helping a friend bought such rocks and his place now stinks. Trying to help him out else will be thrown (him and the rocks together) out of flat by parents.

Hi, just borrow your thread for a related question. If using FL for refugium, is reddish colored lights good for growing microalgae and for seahorse. Understand in FW, reddish colour lights is good for plants. Not sure if same for SW refugium as both don't need strong lights.
