  1. Thanks for all the support. As Kareen mentioned in first-person comments, those are some considerations I had designed into the tank setup. What some reefers who saw the setup and those corals previously in the tank are the very same corals you will see today, only bigger or multiplied. The species tank used to be a seahorse tank. It can also be use for lions, angels, batfish or other non-reef-safe LS , while the main tank remain as a reef tank. All supported by 1 chiller and sump. Apologies to those who requested for buy those optional items, like MH, sump, tunze....etc. Pls understand that the tank is still as you sees it in the pic taken yesterday, ie., full operating condition. I can't simply take out, example, a return pump, or sump to sell you while the tank is running. As mentioned above, I will let the buyer of the tank first right of refusal to buy those optional itemsas they formed an integral part of a functional tanksetup. Prior to tearing down, I will PM those who indicated interest for individual items left over for sale, as well as all corals/fish, equipment.......etc. Hence I would not wish to list individual items when the buyer has first right to purchase. Best regards.
  2. Many thanks to all for supporting this thread. I had received a lot of PMs on words of encouragement and offer of help. I hereby sincerely thank all of you here. I had been quite busy doing some networking as well as well as talking to recruiters in my search for job. Will keep all updated if any positive development. I had also received many PM asking for the optional items and yet to response to those PMs. As my tank is still in full operation, I still need them for the time being until buyer of tank do not need them. I wil keep all your PMs (provided it is not overloading my inbox) and inform you once the item you interested in are available. So anyone showed interests will be notified first. Hope you can understand as I prefer to let the buyer choose what items he/she needs before selling the rest individually. If anyone seriously wants the entire setup, we can certainly work out a reasonable package price. Once again, thank for all kind and encouraging words. You all take care too. Cheers.
  3. One more for the road. From the left side of tank..... think should put all the photos into the member's tank segement for posterity
  4. That's all for now. too many pic until eye blur liow. The tank is just a completed item based upon a lots of my thoughts and past experienced gained from my previous marine tank and put into the design to make it flexible and cost effective. Have to see for yourself the corals/LS health to determine if design is working or not. Too much thoughts to describe here. I had not add any corals since 6 months back when my hectic travelling schedule put the hobby into a holding period. cheers.
  5. More pics.....from right side of tank.
  6. OK. With hot requests to see the sump, here is the pic of 1 of them with a 2014 skimmer (notice the foam !!). The other is identical on the other side of cabinet. Both sumps covered by cabinet doors as can be seen in main tank pic. Note the thick chennai wood structures ?? Parts of it hiddened by the side panel. I have designed for 2 identical sumps, effectively each sump supports 2.5ft of the main tank only. Each sump have compartments for wool filters, return compartment and a skimmer/chiller pump area. For equipment outside sump, I house them inside the side cabinet shown on the tank pic (cabinet not included in sales. It is part of my furniture design, aka, belong to Home Affairs Minister !!) Water change is via the sumps which is about 10-15% of total volume. Easy. I don't want to go into detailed designed approach why the sumps are such and the flexibility of the 2 sumps working together as it will be too lengthy here. So.....here it is :
  7. That's all for now folks. PM me if you need further info. The specimen tank is connected to the return pump from sump, hence the water is circulating, though at slower speed and is meant for my seahorses. Intending to keep angels, batfish and other non-reefsafe LS. Chilled water is supplied from a 0.5HP chiller to both main and speciment tanks and keeping them around 26-27 degrees !! There are lot's of PM asking for optional items. I will post again once the tank is sold and the buyer do not need them or has budget constriants for now. I prefer to let the buyer first right to buy the optional items as I would like to see the tank still in operations as I had designed it. Hope all will understand. Apologies if I delay in my response for request for optional items. For now, I just want to sell the tank first and to concentrate getting a job asap to feed my family. Viewing in AMK Street 11.

  12. Hi Min, sorry to hear about your tank situation over CNY. Learn from it, save whatever you can, look forward and plan for a more formidable setup. Didn't have time to catchup with you for a while now. I hardly in singapore nowadays, even over CNY !! Nickel.
  13. Greatwork chinmo, can understand the stress everytime you about to look at them. BTW, what are those shining dots on the tank floor ?.
  14. Very nice setup, bro. Look forward to see the completed masterpiece. Cheers.
  15. I think cost is irrelevant in the price equation when it comes to rare or unique items, fishes included. Imagine if you still have stacks of those pre-WW2 Japanese Yen (used to be called 'banana notes') used in Singapore..........cost is peanuts but you know how much it is worth to collectors now ? Price worth is in the eyes of the beholder . Ooopps. now you know how old I am .
  16. Amazing !! I entered my boss's name and true enough his picture and info is in there !!
  17. Wow. cost $500 bucks to do setup !! And I offered it free when I was trying to sell my tankset . You can use all your creativity to create a theme and plan what corals goes where. Then firmly stack the LRs to provide holes and cracks for fishes to swim through as well as space to put your corals. Make sure your base LRs solid enough and can firmly support those you stacked above them. Good luck.
  18. For me, it is priority of life at certain situation. All of sudden, I will loose my job soon. kids need to go school/eat/clothes...etc. High committments already for other things such as house/car loans....etc. So out of uncontrollable events, need to prioritise. So I put it as money first though job is a very closely related second.
  19. Hi bro, you shoul dbe able to get light diffusers at most lighting shops. think they usually comes in 4'x2' and last time I asked was around $15 per piece that size. Not sure about $ now as I hardly in Singapore nowadays .
  20. Hi chinmo; Wow, you back with stronger force in SH breeding. Congrats to your new brood and look forward to this batch successfully. Maybe drop by when I have some time in Singapore !! Cheers.
  21. I recalled seeing a similar design tank in a tank maker show room some time back, somewhere in Tagore Lane. Sorry forgot the name liow, nor whether they still there or not. It is somewhere near the 2nd hand car dealers area. You may want to go take a look and get some ideas.
  22. Thanks Caleb. bro iccucc : PMed you on the details you'd requested. I am out of Singapore till this weekend (hopefully ). Let me know if you need more info or discuss any options you want to explore. Will try to revert to you asap whenever I have chance to access internet. Cheers.
  23. Hi bro, that is not how the sentence meant. Read again : "No pump in my SH tank. it is integrated into the main tank and supported by sumps through natural flow of water." MY specimen tank is INTEGRATED into the main tank and SUPPORTED by the sump tank, ie., the specimen tank is standalone but connected to the sump tank via pipings for chiller and filtration purpose. Not inside the sump tank. All LS, especially SH is too precious to me and will occupy the 'prime' display tank in the setup.
  24. Thanks Chris. No pump in my SH tank. it is integrated into the main tank and supported by sumps through natural flow of water.
  25. Saw some golden angel in SL last week. Not sure if still have. Call to check first.
