Hi Bro Did you make a base for your clams? Any small creature like carb or worms can kill the clam from behind. That is the weakness point for a Clam. Once the clam started to die, all fishes will have their share of meat. If the clam is healthy, no fish will touch it. Do you have wrasse? This can also cause a clam dealth. (this happen to me).

jyoon replied to netviper's topic in Sell off/Pasar Malam Shop
Upz for your sales. Buyer can purchase the blue LED from SIm Lim Tower Basement 1 (1st shop from the left main entrance). Normally only the LED is faulty. Cost approx $2. -
Definite enough as this model APF 600 is for up to 1000 litres for normal stocking. Heavy stockings up to 750 litres. This info is from Reef Depot web site. Your 2 ft cube + sump should not exceed 500 litres. Happy reefing.

Hi Bro Keen on your TDS meter. Will call you tomorrow. Also leave my no in your PM.

Hi Bro Any thing that is marine will be killed by fresh water. Thus washing your rocks with tab water killed all the living organisim on the rocks. You will need to start the curing process by cycling the rocks with salt water our of your main tank if possible. If you have other live stock like fishes in the tank, best is to remove the rocks. Any other reefer may add their comments.

Hi Bro I am keen on your Nitrate Reactors c/w pump(bought from Iwarna) - $120. Send you my mobile. Can post a pic or let me know the brand.

I did use a canister on my 2 ft tank w/o sump. Its works for me and now its 1 year old. However you will need to carter for your skimmer (if you intend to use a skimmer). WIth sump, lots of other equipment can be added. Its definite nothing wrong just using canister filter. Salt water will have a layer of floating portein and thus you might need to have a surface extractor. All the best.

white spots on newly added fish

Should not spread to old fishes if the white spot on the new fish is due to stress. -
white spots on newly added fish
jyoon replied to ridzwan21's topic in New to the Marine Aquaria Hobby
Hi Bro White spot appear can be cause by stress. Is your B-color been "chased" or "disturb" by your fox-face? If yes, try to separate them if possible. Not sure how big your tank. If this is cause by disease, then there are a couple of approach you can try: 1. Leave it alone and let the fish flight the disease. Feed it with small amount of food with Garlic can improve its immune system. White spot disease has a life span of up to 8 weeks. Thus patience is a must for this method. 2. Use medication. If you have corals, then you will need to select Medication that is invert. and Coral safe. Had tried Kent Marine RXP and it works for me. There are also those medication used by other reefer that proven works. 3. Lower the sanitity of your tank from 1.02x to 1.01x (try not to be lower then 1.014). Try with care. You may wish to read more on this method before trying. Just my 2 cents. -
Hi Bro In a capavity, rusty stuff is a NO NO. BTW what pump you using? Try to use pump that comes with ceramic shaft instead of stainless or alloy shaft.
-
If you leave the air vendor without an air control, then the noise is approx 20 DB. Is that noisy...subjective. Been using 2 of these for my quarantine tanks and to me they are ok. Use for your 322 tank may not be enough. That also depend on your LS stockings.

Hi Bro Marine Life is located in Hong Leong Garden. By Car (if coming from East), travel on AYE then exit clementi ave 6. Do not turn left, just go straight and you will see Hong Leong Garden on your left. Turn left (before join back to AYE) , turn left again to go into the Wilson Parking car park. Note: The car park charges is $$$$. By public transport : MRT to Clementi and take a bus 154. BTW there are lots of Bacteria available. The USA bacteria from Marine Life is great. Personally I am using Cycle and Bio Digest / Trim. It works for me.

Hi Bro How's your MI (Moorish idol) project? BTW had read from books that this fish hardly can survive long in cavivity due to the fish requirement. This fish require huge swimming space (of cos your tank is large enough) and also need multiple feed a day. So far only heard one reefer manage to keep for 1 year +. To me this is already a success. Also Twin Spot goby does not have long life span in capvivity too. You can search the web or read more on these fishes. So far, I have not touch any of these species yet. Purely read from books in the library. Any reefer have experience with these fishes (Moorish Idol and Twin spot goby)?
