Since your tank is dry now, you may want to consider applying a coat of protection on the glass. This is supposedly to help in your future maintenance. This coat 'fills' up the micro-pores of glass, making it difficult for algae to cling onto the glass. Future maintenance is just a sponge and wiping clean the inside. There are currently, to the best of my knowledge, 2 lfs that sells them. Check with Reef Depot, or Ah Beng (Pacific Reef). Welcome, and happy reefing.

Guess only FOWLR keeper will keep Harlequin Tusk. I have one that been with me for 2 years in my FOWLR setup. It does not touch sea urchin in my tank. However keeping it with Shrimp will be a real challenge. You will need to introduce shrimps first before this fish. However still no gauranrtee they will not touch the shrimps. in terms of environment demanding, its not. Quite easy to keep fish and I like the orange color strips. All the best.

Keeping SH is challenging not impossible. However been new to this hobby, I would not advice starting with SH. Just my 2 cents. You might have already read alot on this hobby. However it never will be enough before trying.

Having a skimmer is not only providing oxygen rich water but also remove organic substances as well. Without skimmer will require more frequent water change. This is not saying that with skimmer no water change is required.

Yes Terryz win the bid. Will be contacting him via PM.

DO NOT buy by impluse. Make sure you really need such a skimmer before purchase. Also the buyer will need to replace an O ring for the output control pipe. It can be purhcase from AM at S$3.00.
-
The skimmer pictures in action were taken last weekend (13 - 14 Mar) after assembly. Had stored the skimmer in the un-assembly stage to prevent O ring from hardening. This skimmer can be used in-sump or out-sump. No feeder pump is included. It should need a 2000 L/hr feeder pump to satisfy this skimmer. Gravitational feed is possible as longer as the feed is close to 2000L an hour. You will need to have a sump compartment of 17" * 17" to host this skimmer. A height of 24" is needed. Guess standard cabinet of 36" should not be an issue. Please carter space for placing skimmer onto sump if intend to run in-sump.

Hi All Due to no approval from CEO to setup a big tank, I would like to put this Skimz BM200 Skimmer for bidding. This is a Skimz BM200 (not the latest model) and the warranty just expired in Dec 2008. It is running on a 2 * AquaBee 2000/1 (33W each) and can be used on tank 1000 L (normal stocking) 750 L (Heavy Stocking). Had send back to AM for servicing last Nov 08 as notice 1 of the AquaBee pump is not that strong. AM had modified the air intake for this pump and it works perfectly (from the last test in AM shop). Will post the picture on the modification in the next post. Ever posted may be selling. However did not manage to decide at that point of time as still hoping CEO could approve a larger tank. Now its firm. NO MORE BIGGER TANK FOR ME>>>> Thus would like to post this skimmer for bidding and rules as follow: 1. Starting bid price as S$218.00. 2. No min. per increase in bid. 3. Closing date for bid will be on 29 Mar 2009 at 23:00 SGT. 4. Buyer can test and collect this equipment on 4 - 5 April 2009 (weekend). 5. Collection will be in Jurong West. 6. Do not PM me on bidding, just post on this thread.

You tried with fresh water? If yes, skimmer won't be able to produce fine bubbles with fresh water la. If you tried with salt water and the bubble is still coarse, then it could be your venturi pipe opening is too large. Also mean faulty.
-
Yes, no need an air pump. The air tube is expose to air mean that it must be above water so air could be intake from the hose.

Hi All Those angels listed in my signature are with me at least 1.5 years. I am running fan for my FOWLR tank.

Hi All Just found out thet Eheim 1260 impeller can be used on the Eheim 1060. The 1260 impeller seem to be better fit then the old 1060 impeller. After running for 5 days, it seem to produce less heat with a 1260 impeller on a 1060 body. May be also my 1060 impeller been worn and thus generate more heat. Hope this help those that are still using the 1060 universal pump.

Guess they are the bristle worms you are referring to. There is a commerical bristle worm trap that you could use to catch them. They normally comes with your live rocks. Reference link http://www.netpets.com/fish/reference/reefref/bristle.html
