To all H&S skimmer owner.. Does this skimmer need a special pump propellor head? Something like a needle wheel type? Can anyone comments about Tunze comline skimmer? Does it suckz big time?? In fact, I bought a Tunze 3160/2 comline skimmer, but have not put in operation yet. Don't tell me this skimmer is good for water aeration only hor... <_<

Iwaki pump motor hosing is made of full metal. If the housing is left to vibrate on a hard flooring or surface, that's explain the loud noise. You can sit the pump on a piece of heavy duty ruuber mat or simply a mouse pad to absord the metal vibration. As for the fan noise, after long usage, the fan will tends to make noise due to dust and blockage of the vent. You need to clean them to increase air flow and reduce the air noise. Iwaki MD-70RLT draws 210watt and output 5160 Litres/hr at head of 4.0 ft. Iwaki MX-70M draws 250watt and output 5400 Litres/hr at head of 4.7 ft. MX series is suppose to take over MD series, where the later will be phasing out soon.

Valve price aren't cheap. Some can go up to as high as 100+ If you ever think of getting a solenoid 3-way valve, you be looking at $400-600 price list manz... At first I thought of that to simulate high/low tide. Now I give that thought a pass....

I got I got ....experience in always making the wrong joining...ha.h.a.h Suggestion: 1. Plan your piping properly. 2. Cut piping to your desired size and lenght. 3. Place them altogether and confirm. 4. Disconnect each joint one-by-one to apply glue. I never follow those steps above, so ended up with a lot of wrong PVC plumping....
