bwilly, I tried this bulb yrs ago, it burnt off all my coral. The instant I turn it on, I notice all my coral start closing and they remain close for the rest of their life until slime and rotten smell floated my room
  6. I have a giant size, bigger than your fist, crab of this kind before. My dad brought it home from his fishing trip and dump into my tank while I'm not at home Seem tame but topple off most of my coral as expected. It live in my sump for the next 2 mths without food. I did feed it, but it refuse to eat .. Its history now...ha.h.ah
  7. My tank is made 10 mths ago and the Dow Coning 795 silicon still feels soft ..
  8. Hi vincent, Don't think the valve can be come in contact with salt water. There is a servo spring acting inside which will corrode in salt water. Furthermore the connecting nut on both end are made of brass. It's only suitable to come in contact with plain water. There are some other more expensive valve in the page, maybe those are salt resistance.

  10. If not mistaken, Corian is made up of 80% acrylic. The remaining 20% is some fibre. If you thinking of making a tank out of corian, I guess your have the apply the acrylic tank rule in order to withstand pressure. They are actually quite easy to bend..
  11. Congrats!!! You going to be a father of a thousand nemo ...
  12. Hi Zerocool, The site seem to have session cookies. You can go to the driect URL at http://www.rssingapore.com/ then click on Automation --> Control Products - Flow & Level --> Solenoid Valves --> 2-Way Water That's the valve i'm using.
  13. This is how my auto top-up works. When the water level probe detect water level low It trigger a power socket and supply power to a DC adaptor. When the soleniod is energised by the 12v DC adaptor, the valve open. Valve will remain open until the power is cut by the signal from water level probe. Since its a normally close valve, any power failure will not cause water to leak out.
  14. Hi Alfaromeo, I'm using a soleniod attach to the household tap supply for auto topup. You can get the valve from RS Singapore, they deliver to your house at no charge. I choose the 12v DC version for safety reason.
