  1. Like I say, 10k CV bulb user, please feedback lah... Mine is 20kk, so expected to be dim, but not as dim as can stare into the core of the 250watt MH bulb ... this make me worried ...
  2. Yap, back to my old AB and BLV setup again... The patch is getting bigger each day, just too lazy to wet my hands
  3. A pic of a purple stag RTNed base up after 2 week on CV bulb.
  4. Day, Good you hear that you have good result from 10kk CV bulb. Maybe I will try on 10kk version when my old bulbs is due for change. By then maybe CV have already come out with a better and brigther 20kk version too..
  5. Working from home? You mean working on your frags??
  6. He means "One can just sit there whole day" . The 'e' from'one' went to join into 'can' ...
  7. By the way, please do not condemm CV bulb yet. Keep in mind I'm trying out the 250watt DE 20kk version only. Those using 10kk SE/DE, please do feedback. Maybe 10kk version is a much better bulb for acropora usage.
  8. Bad news. Finally replace the remaining 2 CV bulbs back to my old AB/BLV 10kk setup. Have discover more STN or tissue die off on the underside of my acropora conlonies. The purple coloration of all the acro have adopt a pinkish shade after 2 weeks of use. Anyone like to take over my 2 weeks old bulb? ..kee..kee..
  9. Okie lor.. Then I leave the tank with right side yellow and left side whitish blue for a mth more. Looks kinda weird thou ....
  10. I think I going to change back to my AB/BLV bulb this weekend. My purple acro has turn brown now
  11. I have finally decided to do a colour comparison after much probing my lazy bones to move. The setup now is CV 20kk on left and middle while the AB 10kk on the right. Hope you can see the difference in the pic. Obviously the light output from AB 10kk is much intense and yellowish, sort of glaring to the eyes as compared to CV 20kk.
  12. Hi Danano, Your purple humilis managed to hold its vibrant purple colour?
  13. Not that one. I'm using the biggest in the comline series.
  14. Maxima, I do notice a decrease in pH reading after photo period. Used to register 8.46 but now its only showing 8.38 I do notice my Acropora Cerealis is losing a bit of its purple so are the rest of the purple tip sps. I got a patch of yellow polyp that won't open under my AB and BLV, which I deem the light is too strong for them as I place it high up in the tank, but after using coralvue, they happily opening up, might be due to the lower light intensity. Will monitor longer, letting the acro get used to the new lighting first. If things dun work out, will switch back to my old bulb soon.
  15. I'm using a Tunze 3160 comline skimmer for my 6.5 ft tank. I like its slim line design. Its working great for me, skimming a full 500ml cup of kopi-o every week.
  16. Isn't that easy to remove? I take my clam to the sink, use a brush and brush the shell until the apitasia break into a thousand pieces and wash under running water. To confirm its totally gone, i put some pH buffer on the spot where the apitasia used to be for a minute and then wash in running water again. ... kee..kee..
  17. 5 mths!!! You better start ordering replacement tube 1/2 a yr before the tube burn out ...
  18. AT, Its not unscrew so easy. I have to bring the pendant down, unscrew 4 holding screw, slide out the cover glass and the pull the bulb out from the socket, which is 50-50 chances might crack it ... I'm too lazy for that..h.a.ha.h.a. Max, Maybe its a good test to prove whether high par value is really need to maintain acro or just more blue light will be enough
  19. Good luck to your new purchase. Hope the colour will stay. I got my fren to buy me 2 acro in the recent shipment. But both RTN when I collect from him...now I'm left 2 soon-to-be white skeleton colony
  20. Visually its slightly more blue as compared to 10kk bulb. But it aren't as blue as what ppl call a 'blue' tank. I like the colour a lot, get a 'cooling' feeling looking at it
  21. Found an old pic of my tank using BLV 10kk bulb. I think the difference is very little. Or maybe the camera suckz ...h.a.h.ah For you guys to compare ...
  22. Although this bulb is rated 20kk, the light aren't near to the blue of a radium or ushio blue. Its mostly white whith a tint of blue. But as compared to 10kk bulb, its really dim lor .. I have read somewhere stating that 20kk SE bulb is much more bluer than a 20kk DE bulb. Especially 250watt DE bulb, its always appear more yellow than any other wattage .. So those bro that is using 20kk SE setup, please post your pic also to compare.
