Live Rock (with Aiptasia) to give away
vincegoh replied to vincegoh's topic in Sell off/Pasar Malam Shop
Bukit Panjang -
I am slowly decommission my tank and will give away at least 100kg of live rock (I have a 5' tank) if anyone want them. After my copperband died, they are all covered with Aiptasia though (so be warn). Some of the live rocks have mushrooms and elephant ear. I am clearing them this sat morning. Give me a PM if you want them else I will have to throw them all. Cheers.

normal glass vs crystal glass
vincegoh replied to Joeteng's topic in New to the Marine Aquaria Hobby
Does it means that crystal glass scratch more easily than normal glass? -
Will the filter sock need to be fully above the water level or partially submerged? What is the usual length and diameter of filter sock? Thanks, bro.
-
This is my proposed setup. Please do feel free to give your comment. By the way, what do think should be the pipes sizes? Thanks. Setup.pdf

How high it need to be above the water level of the sump? Can I custom the sump to hold the filter sock instead of using a plastic holder? Thanks.
-
I have 2 overflow outlet into the sump. 1 go to filter sock and the other goes directly to the PS. I have difficulty attaching the PDF showing the setup though.
-
The water level will be higher so that there will be no fluctuation of water level at the return pump compartment. Yes, at the return pump corner, there is a structural column that protude into my tank area. Main concerns is whether I want to place the PS at the last compartment or the first compartment. I m making the compartment bigger as I want to have flexible in add equipment if necessary, eg a calcium reactor.

I have sketch out a simple sump design as attached in PDF. I have not use filter sock before so am a bit blur on how it is to be secure in the sump. I would appreciate if you can give me your comments. Thanks. Sump.pdf

Thinner possible width for a tank
vincegoh replied to vincegoh's topic in New to the Marine Aquaria Hobby
Thanks for all your comments, guys. I think I will stick to 1.5' width. -
Hi, do anyone have the physical dimension of Reef Octopus Water Blaster 10000? Thanks

Thinner possible width for a tank
vincegoh replied to vincegoh's topic in New to the Marine Aquaria Hobby
Yup, that was 1 of my concern. But I reckon that it can u-turn vertically instead. It has been with me for the past 4 years and continuing growing... Beautiful chap... -
Thinner possible width for a tank

Hmm? In that case, I would rather leave it where it is. Need to surf around and see any new design concept -
Thinner possible width for a tank
vincegoh replied to vincegoh's topic in New to the Marine Aquaria Hobby
Thanks, guys. My 10" unicorn tang will move to the new tank along with the rest of the smaller fish. I m more worry about the space for it. I do not intend to cover the back of the tank. I do thought of having flat piece of large live rock to be place against the wall. My existing L5'xW2'xD2.5' tank do have some problem in arranging the live rock since it acts as a divider, the rock cannot lean against the glass. Anyway, I m selling this tank, how much it is worth now? Though u r right that my existing deltec may not fit in a smaller than 1' sump tank. Hmm... I will have to measure it. Still thinking of how the whole design should go... Headache -
I am thinking of making a new marine tank but this time round I want the tank to be against the wall and it need to be flushed with the adjacent cabinet. I am thinking of a L6'xW1.5'xD2.5' tank. Is it possible to reduce the width from 1.5' to 1'? Note that these are external dimensions. It will be good if any bro have similar experiences to share. Thank you.

How to add sand after cyling?
vincegoh replied to Slimymadness's topic in New to the Marine Aquaria Hobby
I will simply pour in all the sands with the circulation pumps on and filtration off. -
Hi, bro. I bought it locally with local warranty. You can check the website above for more details. Anyway, I have attached one of the enquire thread for your info. Cheers
-
There are a lots of enquires but no sale yet. I will be overseas from early tomorrow morning so do SMS me if you want to deal as I will not check PM overseas. Thank you.
-
As requested, I have attached a photo showing the back of the MH fixture. By the way, I will be overseas so please SMS me as I will not be checking my PM. Thank you.

The MH can be hang or screw on. There are 2 "ears" for you to secure, either by screw or wire or chain.

There are quite a number of queries and my answer as below: LED 1. The LED lightings are used in my 5'x2'x2.5' tank now. The spread of lights and intensity is excellent. 2. I am upgrading to higher color temperature 250W MH 1. Electronic ballast 2. Price reduced to $230.

The danger of hanging outside is overflow (if not tune properly) or leakage which will flood your house. Occur to me when I first started this hobby years ago. Now everything is in sump to play safe.

I managed to find a forgotten 150W MH in my storeroom which I got from ML some years back. The ballast is faulty. I think you can easier get a new electronic ballast from Sim Lim Tower. The bulb is SE and color temperature at 20000K though it looks more like 10000K to me. The housing is in good condition. Fast sale price of $40 (including an additional bulb which is spare) Please contact me at 91454758.

I am selling off 2 units of my 3 months old 120W LED lightings as I am thinking of upgrading to a higher spec model. Also there is a 7 months old 250W DE Lightings with external electronic ballast sitting in my store room. Both lightings are in excellent condition. Backside itchy and kept changing... Detail of 120W LED lightings Unit = 2 Selling price = S$600 each No of total LED = 120 No of white LED = 71 No of blue LED = 48 Wattage of LED = 1W (I find that it is better as there is a better spread and less heat compare to 3W) Color temperature = 14000K 1 unit is suitable for up to 3ft tank. I am using 2 unit for my 5ft tank. Both units still under warranty as they are only 3 months old. The warranty is 36 months. For more detail and photo, please visit the shop website @ Specification and pictures for 120W LED lightings Detail of 250W DE lightings MH Unit = 1 Selling price = S$260 Bulb = BLV double end Color temperature = 10000K Age of bulb = 7 months Picture of the MH as attached. I can be contacted at 91454758.

I am wondering whether is the effect of 3 number of 1W LED equal or more than 1 number of 3W LED. Can any lightings expert comment on this? Thank you.
