Hi, need advice on the fastest way to cure a LR that I have just "disinfected" it due to overgrown aiptasia. I have gotten the big piece of LR from a LFS and when I placed in my display tank, I noticed that it is full of aiptasia. I have no choice but to take out the LR and drench it with hot water. Now I placed the LR in a big container with a powerhead running. Now my kitchen stinks. Will the smell go away after 1 or 2 days? DO I need to change the water frequently?

Blue leg hermit will cause more problem then eat up the dinoflagellates. That is personally experience. Or maybe the one I got has a different personality than other.

FYI. Oceanzim Aquariums at Teban Garden has closed down. I heard due to slow business. Cheers

Will the staff there know what is peppermint shrimps? Cause I don;t really know and might get a similiar one that is not! Is there any local name so that they know?

My tank is 2.5' deep. Not easy to control a thongs.

I prefer the nature method if possible 'cause taking the LR in and out of the tank is stressful for the fishes. Also, I avoid putting in my hand too many times into the tank as well.

ONe big problem with getting new LR is the introduction of Aiptasia. Other than getting a butterfly, peppermint shrimps or using kalk solution or taking the rock out, anyone has any success in using other methods especially using Aiptasia nature enemy (other than the above mentioned)? By the way, there seems to be a debate on whether peppemint shrimps really eat up Aiptasia. Any opinions to add?

My fish food in pellets form is getting moldy. Is it safe to feed it to my fishes?

Never use it before, i agree that there is always exception. I do have a china made Hai Li, which I use for mixing of salt water.

Agreed that Eheim would be a better choice. I have 2 Eheim and they are running fine. As for china made, my experience tell me that the specifications are usually not accurate. Furthermore, leakage of electricity can be danagerous too. Just my opinions.

Obese is also not good for your fishes. Might die of heart attack My wife never feed my fishes, unless I tell her so cause women tend to over feed them...

My tank is 5' x 2' x 2.5'. Should be alright. Any experience on the toxic and feeding habbit is appreciated.

Anyone have any experience with sea hares? Do they eat diatoms? Are they very toxic if they release their purple dye when stressed or die? Will carbon be enough to absorb the toxic?
