Sold. I think the hawkfish found a new nice home in a 6' tank.

Hawkfish reserved by jambul. Thanks for those interested bros.

Yup, this is a Arc Eye Hawkfish. Thanks, Reefaholic.

Selling my Arc Eye Hawkfish for $8. Been with me for more than a month now. Very healthy... maybe too healthy as it has been chasing my cardinal fish (who has been with me for 2 years) which is now hiding. It also "sit" on my leather such that the leather stop opening up. It is however, very bright and alert. Quite an interesting fish with tons of characters. Eat almost everything. Warning: it will finish off your shrimps, including small mantis shrimps. My large cleaner shrimp will finish off within 3 days! It will also eat up the small nuisance crabs. Self-Collection at Bukit Panjang. If interested, please PM me. Thanks.

Just be patience... it will take some time to acclimatise to ur tank... maybe 1 or 2 days... Place it where there is ample lights and good current. Good luck

Anemone is not so hard to keep if the condition is right and it settle well in the tank. IMO, it is much easier than hard corals. Attached anemone has been with me for 2 years now. However, if an anemone died, remove it immediately as it will pollute the water. I don't think there is toxin, it is simply pollution like when a big fish died. Cheers.

Thanks, bro. Seem like a pretty sensible way. -
Enticing a regal angel to feed
vincegoh replied to vincegoh's topic in FOWLR (Fish-only with Live-rock)
My sentiment same as Alfa. Almost most fish will be stressed when 1st introduce. Usually, I do a medicated dip with my existing tank water into the plastic bag and allow about 2 hours of "soaking" and acclimatisation. Once introduce, usually they will hide in my LR. The said regal angel only 3 days in my tank is swimming side by side with my naso ######. It is not disturb even if I change my water last saturday, it just swimming around the pipe as if checking it out. It seems that it wanted to try the nori and mysis but it just stop short. I will try the mussels and clams method but I am worry that my six line wrasse will get to that 1st - greedy fellow. I am still open to any suggestion. Thanks for all your reply so far. Cheers. -

No such luxury to have a QT lah. -
Terryz has said it. It is just due its "breathing". Anemone will always expel stale water and take in fresh water now and then. This is very normal. Usually, once an anemone stabilise in your tank, it is quite hardy. I have once accidentally tear off 1/3 of my pink anemone and it survive and is healthy as always.

Enticing a regal angel to feed

Well, it is a yellow belly regal. However, it has not been eating mysis or nori for the past 3 weeks. Although it is pecking at the rocks with some algae, I don't think that will last. Anything else this guy love? Thanks. -
Can I know how you guy entice a regal angel to start feeding? What is the common food here that you use? Thanks.
-
Can I take some from u? Maybe pick up from you this coming weekend? Cheers.

Anyone care to explain on how beckett works? Or any website to view? Thanks.

How does a air inlet silencer look like?
-
Interesting, why you need 2 beckett skimmer?
-
Thanks. That is also why it is getting more confusing of the pros and cons for the individual beckett skimmer. Can anyone tell me on their personal experiences on the different beckett skimmers? Or can also PM me if it is sensitive.
-
I don't understand how a longer downpipe will have less head losses. Anyway, I am not sure of the working of a beckett skimmer in the 1st place. From what I know it is a extension of venturi skimmer. Any experts care to explain.
-
I understand that the bullet beckett will require a less powerful pump to drive as it go directly into the reaction chamber of the skimmer. A 50W pump is sufficient. How about for the other beckett skimmers? I suppose a bigger capacity pump is required since there should be significant losses through the length of the inlet pipe.
-
In your opinion, which beckett incorporate the air intake silencer?
-
There are a number of beckett skimmers around and I am confused which skimmer is better. From what I understand, there are RM, bullet and I*** beckett skimmers. Any experienced bro out there can share their views on this? Thank you.

Thanks all your reply. The problem with books and information on the web is that there are a lot of contradicting information. Example I have 2 books and one say that vagabond butterfly is easy to keep, the other say that it is very difficult. That is why I need personal experience from the bro here. By the way, my anemone is protected by 2 clown. Or suggestion based on experience about the type of butterfly that feed on aiptasia and will not try its luck on my anemone.

Can I know any bro out there have experiences with Copperband butterfly fish and rose anemone? I have a rose anemone in my 5' tank already and I am thinking of getting a Copperband butterfly fish which will add color and also get rid of aiptasia. But I am worry that the butterfly will attack my precious anemone. Personal experiences from bro out there appreciated.
