U are right. Initially for a week, one of them is chasing the other one. Now they are getting along quite alright. Except there is occassional bicker but no attack to each other. The feather dusters are fine. However, my green "bubbles" macro aglae kanna eatten up by the butterfly after 3 days... wasted $12...

Tank size: 5' x 2' x 2.5' 2 vagabond butterfly fish 2 clown fish 1 Banggai Cardinalfish 1 Tassle Filefish 1 blue legged hermit crab 2 dancing shrimps 2 turbo snails (the rest died - which bring another question, why?) 3 father duster worms 1 tube anemone 40kg of LR No coral I did saw few hitchhiker like crabs, brittleworms and one mantis shrimp (Hopefully just one only - this only is about 2cm long) Still trying to catch it. Any advise? What might be the cause? Should I insolate the injured butterfly fish? Thanks

My vagabond butterfly is being attacked!!! I have no idea what attacked it but there are vertical cut marks down one side of the fish. Is it done by mantis shrimp or crabs? Or can it be the other butterfly fish

Check out in the internet and got the name of the shrimp. It is a Scarlet Skunk Cleaner Shrimp. My tank parameter are: Nitrite 0ppm Nitrate 40ppm or slightly more (about to change water) pH 8.4 Temperature 28.2 - 28.8 Salinity 1.025 Where to get the cheapest and healthly too. Wasted $24 on 3 of these shrimps already.

Can I know how u guys acclimatize the cleaner/banded shrimp? I have tried 2 times (from different LFS) put in the shrimps and 2 times they are dead within minutes. Steps that I have carried out: 1. Float the bag for half an hour 2. Slowly add water from my tank into the bag. 3. Net the shrimp out from the bag and put it in my tank. What went wrong? Is it my water? My clown and butterfly fish are surviving leh. Also, any idea where to get banded shrimp at a lower prices? I got it both times for $8. Wat size should I get? Thanks.

Same thing happen to me. There is always "snapping sound". Does it mean mantis shrimp? Anyway, I happen to see one yesterday evening. No wonder all my bottom dweller fishes died in a few days time. Headache about getting rid of it. Any idea so that I need not take out all the LR? Any "gentler" fish that will prey on Mantis shrimp?
