  1. Latest full tank pic. Still trying to bring back the colors which was lost maybe due to too long a photoperiod... still trying.. sob sob
  2. Updates to lighting config. Now using BLV 14kk instead of the 10kk. Been running it for a few days now. Very pleased with the whiter look when compared to the 10kk However, time will tell if the corals like it as much as I do.. hehe
  3. Growth pic of a staghorn I think. From PR's shipment in September.
  4. Thats a very good trick Happy. Thanks for sharing.
  5. Good luck if you try to QT such a sensitive and shy fish in a bare QT tank. IMHO, it would further stress the poor fish and will not help with its appetite at all. The regal needs mature LR for it to start nipping on and also bolt to safety. Its a very skittish fish and will bolt at the slightest movement outside of the tank. This usually happens in the first few weeks before the fish gets comfy in the tank and will be bolder. QT is not the best practise when in comes to this fish. A matured tank with ample LR and hiding holes makes the safest bet in my opinion.
  6. We can also hang red algae/nori on clips or tie it around a small piece of LR and the regal will come around and eat it in a few days time. Especially so if there are other feeding fishes which the regal can 'learn' from. HTH
  7. Riot, can try putting in biological controls like the yellow coris/leopard wrasse/6-line after you have eradicated the problem with flatworm exit
  8. A caveat for the wavebox. Pls make sure that your tank is resonably sound cos the wavebox will add more stress of the silicon seams of the tank due to the vast amount of water swishing around. Just a caution.
  9. Call Polar Field Catering - 67591771. They deliver distilled water in 5G bottles (~20L) and it cost about $8. Free delivery
  10. Yup, but they tend to be a bit yellowish. I would go for the new BLV 14kk bulbs as they are pure white according to ppl who are running the bulbs now.
  11. Maybe we are contributing more than we know to the $115596 million dollars in foreign reserves? $115 Billion Dollars!
  12. T5s - from 11pm to 9pm (10 hours) MHs - from 1pm to 7pm (6 hours)
  13. For a reef tank, its the usual practise to run it at 'Full Strength Saltwater' which translates to 1.025. CA/MG/KH should also be tailored to the levels found in NSW.
  14. Generally, the higher the K rating , the bluer it gets.. 6.5kk is yellowish, 10kk is white, 14kk is bluish and 20kk is blue. Generally.
  15. Aquarix, 18 inch ht can get away with 150w MHs. Also note that lights are only 1 part of an elaborate qequation when it comes to SPSes. Generally, 18 inch to 30 inch ht will need at least 250w Mhs if planning on SPSes. 10k/14k/20k are color temperatures.
  16. Small hairy crab with blue eyes? KILL THEM ALL!!!!! hehehe those will scrap the flesh from the acros and leave you with nice sparkling clean SPS skeletons!...
  17. Will not effectively in Singapore due to the high humidity. It works on a basis of forced evaporation and will work significantly better in places of very low humidity considering the target temperature of most of our tanks (26-28 degrees) Also, have you enquired on how much it will cost to puchase the cooler? HTH
