  1. True True... the room will sound like a machine room with the MX70 whirring away...
  2. Amazing colors! Very well managed and aquascaped.. POWER!
  3. Pls see my remark about the consequences of too slow a flowrate.
  4. Maybe if you phrase the question better, more ppl will respond. If you are using an FR, then the media should be 'stirring' in the reactor. Its called a "Fluidized Reactor" rite? Too slow a flowrate and channels will start forming in the media and there will be less than ideal contact between the water and media.
  5. Me joining the Q for the frag too!
  6. DA, if u find a fish that eats cyano for breakfast, tell me hor.. Got a buffet in my tank now
  7. Bro, you're a Mod rite? You have the power!
  8. Yo Bro, glad to hear your AT has wisen up and started eating. Mine is still swimming actively and eating nori bits soaked in garlic and also frozen brineshrimp/mysis. ICH is still present but the rate of infection is decreasing I think/hope. 56 days and counting..
  9. I have heard a lot of things about Singapore including a lot of abuse and hated remarks about how little we are, how insignificant we are, etc etc but this takes the cake. This is the most utterly distaseful remark I have ever heard being said about Singapore and Singaporeans.... We are now being accused of having a culture? How can they!
  10. Wah DA, first it was tangs, then dwarf angels and now wrasse? hehehe
  11. After using the Zeovit system for about 6 months, I believe that the system works if we practise it according to the guidelines and methods and not kehkiang and do it our own way. Like Roidan mentioned, its a relatively new method of The dosages are more or less standard and will gradually taper off especially the Zeostart. Overdose it and bad things like tip recession will happen with the SPS and it will signal that your tank have entered a new phase and the dosages have to be lowered. It means that you have to observe and understand the SPS in your collections and identity a 'canary' for the adjustment of dosages. There is a new version of zeostart called 'zeostart2' which wil greatly reduce the ill-effects of overdosing. The system is relatively simple once you get the hang of it but its not a system for the impatient, it takes time to fully unlease its potential and we just need to stay the course to observe the effects. IMHO, For reeftanks that are already super beautiful and healthy with undetectable NO3 and PO4 aka a well-tuned stock car, I think that running zeovit on these tanks will bring out even brighter colors and better growth because it will further drive down the nutrients to even lower levels that currently afforded by other more conventional means like Rowaphos etc etc. This is akin to fixing better electricals to a car or putting in a super-charger to give the stock car an extra boost. My tank pic about 1-2 months ago I think.. its much much better than 3 months ago before dat. For me, it works well enuff to constantly improve my growth and colors of the corals. The colors cannot beat the guru's in the forum but its the best I have seen in my tank so far. Just imagine what it can do to your already fabulous tanks?
  12. Not yet leh....still got spots.. now become like gem tang liao...hehehe.. but still swimming and eating....hopefully it recovers soon.. *fingers crossed*
  13. Wow! thats simply amazing. You got balls. I have a 6ft tank and all I dare to keep is a total of 6 tangs and already some squabbles are happening once the tangs gets territorial. You got at least 10 tangs in a 4ft? Tang police, eat your heart out. Responsible Reefkeeping? bah hum-bug..
  14. Vince, I would go for 3xBLV10K with T5 Actinics. Will give you all the PAR you need and the Actinics will cancel off the yellowness from the bulbs and you can use the actinics for dawn and dusk effects.
  15. Personally, I would dump the whole colony away. Better be safe than sorry at this stage.
  16. The best way to lower IMHO is getting a better skimmer that can extract all the DOCs before they have a chance to break down into NO3. If your skimmer is up to the task , you will have 0 NO3.
  17. I will be very happy if my AT survives... thats my dream fish...
  18. My pair is hosted by a cluster of hammers. They look very happy there
  19. Condensation on the glass can lead to tank cracking meh? hmmm
