No chitchat ok.. else topic will be close by mod. Already forgotten the coding, confused with C and Pascal now. Back to the topic - tank crash. It happened to me once. Tank after 1 mth later, 1) Added many big fish 2) Added more sand 3) Put marincure for whitespot (overdose) 4) Stop pump, rescape LR After that, some fish immediately die. Expensive lesson So it's important to plan probably. As for anemone, the moment i see it not open for days, before it rot, i will take out the LR and remove the anemone away already.

My Harlequin died due to molting ?
chrislwp replied to hamannbmw's topic in New to the Marine Aquaria Hobby
Really.. I do dose very little sometimes, about 0.5ml for my 4ft. knowing that it kills if overdose. -
Hi GoldenTooth, Does your Cauliflower open 24hrs a day? Mine opens up unpredictability, open more frequent when I pump phyto to tank.

Fish died with mouth wide open
chrislwp replied to kenzo's topic in Disease treatment/parasite/pest control
Did u expose ur fish to ur TV while u are watching "The Ring"? -
Try ALt-Del-Ctrl...just joking, When u see the anemone not opening already.. must take precaution already.. try massage it and see if it rot, If ( open = 0, then {If (rot = 1), then take out and throw before too late} Else (leave it) return(LFs) )

will sea cuke topple LR structures?
chrislwp replied to typrobin's topic in New to the Marine Aquaria Hobby
It's very sensitive to the surrounding. Sometimes I can see it crossing abovemy sand sift without touching it. Seems like it's making way, a manners cuke indeed. Unless it's being disturbed, then it will harden it's body. -

Mine most of the time on sandbed, sometimes on glass surface or around the LR, so far so good. BTW, sea cuke is flexible enough to squeeze through the LR. -
Where to find huge Red Sea Sailfin Tang
chrislwp replied to Boltthrower's topic in Weekly LFS Stocks Report / LFS Info Centre
Saw 1 in WaterCircle few mths ago. About 1ft long. Not sure still around. Maybe too huge for u already. BTW, why you want to keep such a huge fish? Your tank how many ft? -
i feed my anemone 1 cube of frozen brine shrimp every 3-4 days. Didn't melt it, as other fish will finish it before it can get hold of it. It may be cold to the anemone, but so far so good leh.

I saw 3 teardrop in PR too. But according to the boss, it's not a true teardrop maxima. WOnder how to tell a real teardrop?
-
Wo... I already standby a bottle of 200capsules Waterlife Octozin. Hope I don't need to use it.

chrislwp replied to Vincenttan's topic in Weekly LFS Stocks Report / LFS Info Centre
PR. $14. Quite a lot. -
I really cannot tell you where to get cheap LR. Best you buy from ppl who post for sales. I set up mine with 40+kg fiji, definitely nice and no unwanted crab or mantis. and it's also big, good for base. Subsequently I bought from SRC member whose LR are usually cured, with coraline algea. Recently 1 guy posted 70kg for $50. Very fast ppl grabbed already.

Manage to keep 2 cleaner, 2 boxer and 1 fire shrimp. So far so good.

Wow.. that's a big tank. Good enough for Sohal. Do you have an updated pic of your tank? It looks quite empty. Your tank should allow you to create a very nice scaping. Stack up more LRs. If $ isn't a big issue, get the fiji rocks. Don't get those LRs with dirt and algae on it. Just my opinion. Hopefully dont get flamed.

Hey, my friend bought a skimmer less than $100, even come together with a pump. It's Atman brand. Heard that it's skimming well with kopi-O too. But the size is big.

Soon 32. Hope I am not the oldest here.

I really have a hard time removing it cause it's attached tightly to one of my base LR. Finally I wrap the cover rock with plastic bag. Few days later the carpet move down to sandbed. That's it. Should have done it earlier man. Fish lost already $100 whereas the carpet is only $20.
-
Ya. where did u buy it from? I saw many in one of the shipment not long ago from a famous LFs. I waited a week and go back to see, the balance mostly sick already. I really pity those Sohal, a fish that needs 180gal of water being squeeze in those messy small tank. I won't pay $60 for a fish like that. It's like playing BIG/SMALL. Chances of surviving half half. So I bought mine from ML. Look promising and healthy. I didn't give it big space for swimming. But it's already stable, in my tank with YT and PT too.

I agree with Dispar_Anthias that SOhal is easy to keep, provided that it's eating. I got this info about tang. Tangs_Char.doc

If I am not wrong, carpet anemone is sticky around the side only. so maybe ur damsel is only touching the center area. I experienced the same situation as lightingstrike. In total I lost 2 purple tang & 1 blue tang to it. Either missing from the tank or died after I remove it from the carpet.
