Yes I am using in sump. Maybe yours is a new/different design, as mine already a decade which indicate the water level has to be high up to the Logo.
Why not try to put the skimmer in a pail, fill with your tank water up to the Tunze logo area and experience it. I can see your bubble is fine, means working well. The air valve allows you to tune the size of the bubble.
Hi Jeff,
Your water level is too low already, it has to be just right above the TUNZE logo in your picture, so i think you can't fix it at the last compartment already.
I am using my twin pump Tunze for 8 years already.. needless to say, German product last..
Reef Depot no more ordering. Approach AM, call and look for Amy.
Prior calling, research online the actual part number, like "3000.600". She can order for your from Germany.
Depends on when is there next bulk order. I was lucky to tag along someone else who order bigger item so no need to specially courier over.

Peppermint shrimp may not be as effective as Seagrass filefish, it can wrap out every aiptasia at every corner.
And now without aiptasia, it feels on pellets. But beware that it may not be very reef safe, especially zoas.
What about your Mg and lighting? Need all this for coraline algae too.
Try get to scratch a coraline encrusted rock to kick start the spreading.
5mths tank is still very young, give it another 2 mths. Coraline algae likes blue lighting, good flow.
Even 10k is pretty tight for a 8 footer mainly on equipment alone.
Consider a big skimmer, chiller, lighting, few return pumps, wave maker, reactor and cost of the tank. Probably just nice with proper planning.
I dont think anaerobic bacteria can be achieved with just 5-6 kg of LR unless it's whole solid piece, even so that little rock serve little purpose for No3 export only.
Deadspot? U worry about cyano in sump? Do u have lighting in sump?
