pm-ed u, anyway best price for 2?
-
thanz .. but i was just wondering whether is there a need of concern or not? most of all are staying in a HDB and chillers and tanks are located most of the time at corners, been a typical singapore family, doors and windows are shut when we go to work or holidays ..... anyone out there has any experience with overheat wires over time?
-
pardon my ignorance .. have a mutliplug and all wires are running from there to the main tank, sump etc however, there is a chiller and out of curiosity, after months of usage, due to the heat generated by the chiller, would be wires be affected? also, is there any product in the market that just by applying over the wires, it would enhance its heat resistant?

just returned from lck110 - they have 3 huge moorish idols! others are quite usual! -
caution : most local so-called DMs are nothing more than a dive guide! do not expect much professionalism and safety practices from them ... but they sure come into handy when u need someone who knows the sites well!

been keeping a snowflake for almost a yr liao and initially it refused to eat too ... but been trying for days and it went for the market prawns using a pair of tongs eventually! but i realised that every time i add a new fish in, it would refuse to eat but will 'recover' after a couple of days when it starts to swim about i would take it as hungry liao ... been feeding it on alternate days!

used the CL650 on my 3 ft for about 6 mths and performance wise was ok, just a bit too noisy ... honestly, i like it as in terms of electrical bills, it didnt shoot up at all ... but then i was using 2 FL ....

aiyo ... nothing new! was there the other time and again, we were the invisibles ... not only that, switched off most lights before closing time .. we got the message and left ... never return since -
well said!!! but 1st of all, what is your personal preference - full foot or open heels? i always prefer the former if u like those live-on-boards, but open heels would be a bliss if u always do shore-dives ... and of course beauuse of the booties, additional costs and weight would set in .. i have 2 - Technisub (full foot) and Cressi Frog that till now, i am still using them ... last a very long time, for my case more than 12 years .. as long as u aviod leaving them under direct sun when not in use .... and try not to place any weights on them when storing
-
correct .. mine are like this too ... initially also tot it would fall off .. but been 2 mths liao ... still ok!
-
have u started or been certified already? planning for a short live-on-board to similan ... i hope.
-
i dun mind joining u fellas for a trip but monsoon is setting in so i guess any dive trip can only be made on the western part. planning a trip to thailand in dec so pm me if interested.

yes, bioballs are only meant for the chamber .... my 1262 is fine with me right now as the returned water also plays a part in water movement .. as for the wool, well, i place it where the water directly overflows in the sump .... or rather where the PVC pipes lead to ... in terms of maintenance, i only replace them 2 wks at a time ... and the bigger particles are aleady filtered by the bioballs, so occasionally i would just remove them for cleaning .... but u would be surrpised by the colour of the wool after sometime ... PM me if u wanna some photos

which country's coral reef is famous for divers?
triggerfish replied to ah_d3x's topic in General Reefkeeping_
different sites cater for different interests ... such as if u like deep and wall dive go for manado .. really dive till u drop .. if u like wreck dive, palau may be of interest to u .... but an advice to new divers, just like reefing, do some read-ups 1st ... places like palau and manado not really meant for beginners esp when u have problems equalising fast just my opinion -
have been diving for more than 10 years liao ... agree on the point that visibility is poor in hantu and current are strong at times too ... but gotta admit that singapore offers a very good training ground .... if u can survive locally, no prob anywhere else! i even took my DM course here .. very siong but most instructors if not all are actually no nonsense type ... do not short change new OWs ... witness several times overseas that they actually allow new divers to dive more than 18m and even night dives ... the so-called DMs or dive guides over there are just experienced divers nothing much .... not to discount them but they are good at leading to 'places of interest' but hardly any knowledge in safety aspects! diving can be classified as an extreme sport but it can be very safe as long as we adhere to all safety aspects and most importantly, IMO, do not go against Mother Nature!
-
hi ..... mine system is kinda similar to yours but i am using eheim 1262 ...... also, when i just started, the splashing sound was wonderful, but in the middle of the night, it was not so ... somehow, i used bioballs to fill up the chamber and the sound was reduced significantly!
