  1. hey guys, thanks for the nice comment... giving up due to family and work commitment, swich to hassle free koi instead ! Actually there is a very sad story behind, we moved house and the house were vacant for a while, but go back every other day to maintain the tank and one day there was a power trip and all the LS gone..
  2. Tank 6 x 2.5 x 2.5 complete with full finished cabinet + SUMP + piping tank ( 12mm with euro bracing and german silicon) Chiller, 1.25 horse power (artica OEM brand, can't remember the brand) skimmer : dual becket custom to fit in sump calcium reactor from JoeP dual chamber + 3 CO2 cannister, 2 brand new. please set aside around 400 for mover and setup. $2k. want to let go as whole set. cheers !
  3. Rabbit fish or algae blenny will be good helper for algae control
  4. ozone if use appropriately can help increase the efficiency for skimming... but personally I think the connection between controlling algae growth and ozone is at most weak... IMHO
  5. when your skimmer skim nothing at all, its an indication of you might have over-dose the ozone..ozone suppose to increase skimming output..
  6. it might be part of the cycling process... many approached you can take to adjust, just don't do anything too drastic as for every actions , there often other effects which might be undesirable. black Seacuke can definately help to turn the topl ayer of the sand overs... diatoms eating tangs might helps increase flow, and skimmer capacity. Reducing the light cycle whichever fits you, try it
  7. I have 2 Lobos in my tank for more then a year , I have place them under low current, and switch to strong, alternating current, they are doing well and growing bigger and fleshier so I think lobo is probably quite tolerance to flow...
  8. I tried Xenia with my old tank using 150W MH with no success.. open and pulsing nicely.. and all of sudden just disappear. After upgrading to a bigger tank with 400W, the old xenia flourish out of no where again
  9. Hi BH, there are many kind of teachers around, some are soft and nice, some are harsh and nasty... as times goes by , you will find out that those whom uses the harshest words on you are probably those you benefited the most from. take it easy ! always leave room for the next move...never say never.... hope to see you soon !
  10. wow ! Gorgeous Pixs ! Strobe lights makes lot of diff right ? are you using single or dual strobe ?
  11. noble sentiment. But seriously over estimate the power of human being .. Trees don'e produce oxygen because they know other creatures going to use it, the produce it as a by-product after using up the carbon in CO2. Insect and Bees don't give a dam whether we get fed, they only want the nectars. If there are no plackton, whales probably never exist...at all to start with... They are all trying to survive ! Most creatures know exactly what they need, and take that only, the rest would just falls into balance the problem with most human being is , they don't know the difference between what they need and what they want..... and therefore can never be happy
  12. hey flametail, I think most fishshop (marine and fresh) do that , planted tank needs lot of co2 as well. try asking the fish shops nearby, can save you the trouble of carry them around.
