  1. Get really strong magnets. Alternatively can use a magnet cleaner suitable for your tank thickness.
  2. 26-27, sps color and growth doing ok... I think
  3. Awesome collection Bro! Is that the so called everlasting gobstoppers on the last pic?
  4. To add, atmosphere have a conductivity of 0.024, while water is 0.58 ( salt water should be higher). So cooling the water directly should be more efficient than cooling through the air. Unless you get it free from really cold weather.
  5. That should be true, as the thermal conductivity act as a resistor between the different medium, i.e. water - glass - ambient.' However our climate does not work in our favor ... Everyday is so hot hot !
  6. With regards to chiller consumption, acrylic have a thermal conductivity of 0.2 W/(m.K) while glass is 1.05 W/(m.K)! That means a full acrylic setup (tank and sump) will keep the water cooler for longer. Of cos acrylic got cons ... For your consideration.
  7. Different names, supersun is Dendrophyllia while normal sun is tubastrea. It's true that the super sun will happily open up in the day while normal sun is more nocturnal and only opens in the day when they smell food.
  8. Acro crabs. They help clean up the insides of sps colonies from uneaten food or detritus. All my sps colonies got at least one inside ... No harm to other corals so far
  9. Bro I am using teco also... You should seriously check if the oring and gaskets are present pointed out by Kaykay. If both are present, most probably your valves are faulty and needs to be replaced.
  10. They are coral safe ... Hard or soft. Good For keeping mandarin
  11. Nice shot! Bits of fish food will sustain their diet. Your tank flow through the sump and ats will bring sufficient air.
  12. Baby aptesia. Get rid of it, quick!
  13. Any Bro, seen this in our LFS? Reefdepot got no stock.
  14. Not sure if this was posted before ... But sure is a more than comprehensive collection! sdmas.com/corals/species.php
  15. Cross stitching plastic canvas. Available at artfriend. 3 bucks for A3 size piece
  16. That had exactly what I need in an app! Thanks! Going to app store now
  17. 1ft t5 tubes should be around 8w. While a 2ft high output tube is rated at 24w. Furthermore, 1ft tubes are not common and you will not find much color choices compared to the reef specific offerings from ati, geismann or even the more economical brands.
  18. Nice shot! Agree that macro don't need full frame. I'm using 50d and find no limitation. Crop will give you as good results. Lens quality is more important.
  19. You can get tuxedo urchins. Had both and find the urchin cleans up rocks much better. Both urchins and hermits will wonder about and knock down stuffs, so make sure you firmly glue down your prized frags/corals before introducing them
  20. DI only unit is actually more expensive to run considering the amount of resin used to make the water as clean as a RO/DI unit. And the water flow rate got to be extremely slow. Read somewhere that the RO section clears 90% of the gunk while the DI section clears up the rest of the 10%. Used a DI only unit before upgrading to RO/DI. You can also setup a waste water collection for other use if you don't want to waste water.
