  1. I feel flattered by your comments. I am no expert. I went thro the steep learning curve. Anything can happen with a reef tank. Black Swan Syndrome. Spot early trouble and quick to act on it.. When everything is fine, one is called an expert. The next day, trouble brews, the expert becomes a blurred reefer and starts asking questions. This is one heck of a hobby. Thanks HappyReefer.
  2. Kirby, nothing specific. There is no sure system, it depends on what you are keeping, the tank size,etc... Ok, some info on my tank first. 4 X 2 x 2.5 ht. 5 years old ( old tank syndrome is the threat). Mixed reef: zoas, sps Acans and Blastos Anemone, fishes (30+) And many others.. I feed heavily, including oyster feast for sps. Amino + multi vit , 10 drops 4-5 times a week. I dose Bact everyday : 10ml. Run rowA phos, bio pallets , carbon, cr + 2 teaspoon Cacl and 1 teaspoon Kh powder everyday. 6 hrs of burnt, 250w mh (20KK) + 6 X 39w T5. Night is Exotic led, 4 ft. Water change 5% / fortnight. Staring at tank a few hours each day,, to spot early trouble. Finally to be a good reefer, you need : Tenacity! Cheers,
  3. Show off time. This is what make Reefing so satisfying. Nurturing a simple to a beauty.. Red Planet. The colony nearly died on me. Luckily managed to salvage a frag and so finished the end, and the start of a beginning... Thanks to tht79, Alvin , who so generously shared this yellow phoenix with me. The yellow bird and pink bird nest so beautifully. And lastly, the robust echinata thrusts its grandness above all others. Cheers, YT.
  4. Good article. To each its own. Different soups from different cooks. cheers mike
  5. Really? There were 3 other men there, 1 bought 2 wrasse, the other asked for something else and the lone one inside he room. Which 1 is ah Siang? Yt
  6. Ah Siang, you too are still looking good and sexy , with your plunging neckline green dress. Cheers Yt
  7. Are these acans or blastos? Interesting . YT.
  8. Your tank is matured. Not keeping Sps is wasteful and sinful, too. Sps with Angels complement each other. Just a matter of juggling the time. Cheers , Yt
  9. Brilliant Purple Tile Fish from Henry's Marine Life. A pair of them , not shy at all. Good size too... I am tempted... YT.
  10. Catgirl, your gonio doing pretty good. Resurrected for sure. Maybe I can lompang mine for your TLC . Soft power is the way to go! Thanks, YT
  11. Wow, impressive list of fishes. Awaiting your return to sps. Cheers,
  12. Still young. Need to take good care. Enjoy your Reefing too. Yt
  13. I just like these political statements : Sold to a NICE reefer, NICE gentleman,hahaha.... Cheers
  14. Don't forget to appreciate his blue Aussie spathulata . A lovely sps. And The great highly sought after echinata too. Cheers,
  15. The Yellow Jacket Acro was definitely in my aimed list. Damned Bright Yellow with very profound coralites. A definite gem. Unfortunately, my tank is too crowded and I have to come home first to arrange a space for it. If it is taken up by a reefer today, just too bad for me. If not, I will definitely bag it tonite. The Red Plznet Acro Tt he has is surely a hybrid..if it stays Tt way,a designer Acro it will be. Go for it, if Gary is willing to let it go. Cheers, Yt
  16. 2 Ws in your name...hmm ... Got to be Whisky!! Faraway Future? Don't bet on it.. The last time you decommed for a new love, you couldn't even last 6 months and came roaring back with a 5 or 6 footer and bagged the TOTM Gold Award. So what's your game plan , now? Cheers,
  17. From Down Under, James. It's echinata. Cheers
  18. It's not from another world, it's Kaijuworld. KL Red Stag. King Louis! How's yours?
  19. Tell you something , Pat. Pint sized zoas are hard to keep. If you have a whole rock colony, it's still not so bad. If they are fragged out, today you see them, tomorrow you don't. Yt
  20. A good catch for the new owner. Pink Lemonade, a rare beauty. Forever Gem. YT.
  21. Reef Garden, your nickname sums it all: the reef is a garden,we grow plants and flowers , we try to choose the best spot for them for light and flow and get them compatible neighbors for peace and harmony. Try to visualize what you want for the scape and colors , then go out to look for them. Growth shape is as importZnt as colour.. See the sps above, not really Colourful but the form is so eye catching, so relevant in my tank. A beauty to me. Yes, that's a pocci on the right and a Red Planet further down. These sps contribute colours and add depth to the dimension of the reef. You will learn as you go along... Cheers, Yt
  22. HappyReef, thank you for your 3 X Salute. You are Happy , I am Happy too, But extraordinary achievement is really a over praised for me. The road is long with many a winding turn. That is the path that reefer takes. But it will leads us to satisfaction or someway happy. So reef on... Reef Happy, Happy Reefer. Yt
