What is your priority when selecting a chiller?

Agree on the importance of systems being as independent as possible. So it's ok to run the chilled water back to the sump 1st right? -
What is your priority when selecting a chiller?

I thought of placing a separate pump in the 2nd compartment to pump water into the chiller, and let the outlet into the 3rd compartment, so that the return pump can move the chilled water into the main tank. But will this be less efficient than pumping chilled water directly into the main tank? -

R u referring to the use of 1 pump for 2 purpose? Should be able to use another pump for chiller, no prob. My concern is whether back flow will occur at pt "e". I am not willing to have a 3rd pipe cos it will increase my overflow size. -
Unless your sandbed is more than 4" deep, it probably will not perform biological filtration effectively.

Logically, I think that should be the way. Only problem now is that I have not catered a pipe for return from chiller. I am thinking of doing something as shown in the pic, but I think there may be a backflow at point "e" back to the chiller, and may affect the effectiveness of the return flow. Can some good soul advise? -
Erm, Bro Barnacle, did you restart your tank?

Nice! U are using FL lights, so why the need to have a 6" fan for cooling?

Thanks for the info, BH. Like to ask:- how can we generate multi-directional flow in a small tank, say 2x1ft tank?

U ask for what? U shave it anyway.

Likely cause is the air intake got choked by crystallised salt. Clear the airway and try again.

BTW, may I know where does the output from the chiller go to - the sump or the main tank? Which one the more effective, i.e. less stressful to the chiller? -
It's your choice. Alternatively you can change channels to either view ads or MTVs.

If can then pass me the jerry can next week ok. Ur side got anyone interested in setting up new tank? I can let go cheap cheap.

Your clowns are trying to get hosted in the yumas. My clowns did the same, except my yumas welcomed them. BTW, yumas do not require a lot of lighting. Perhaps you want to show pictures of the yumas under lights. What kind of lights do you use?

Some toilets have some interesting posters and graffittis pasted on the wall. I guess visitors using these toilets will look down less often compared to normal toilets. Bottomline, no where else to see, so must look down la. Maybe in future toilets should provide tv screens like on aeroplanes.

I intend to get new set - L2.5xW1.5xH2.5ft c/w sump, cabinet and hood. But will migrate the existing LS (whatever that's left) and equipment. U guys wanna help me migrate? I will still need your jerry cans though. But haven't think of what to do to the old tank. Suggestions?

Oei, MC, do you look down yourself? Well, I guess some times we (guys) also use those "squatting" type of wc for peeing. So we need to somehow "aim" in order to get the urine into the designated compartment right? So it eventually becomes a habit lor. Btw, what else can you see if you do not look down? If your eyes wander around other people may think you are trying to peep or compare.

I guess reliability can be defined in a few ways. Are you referring to low breakdown frequencies or good after sales support? Perhaps "brand" can cover these areas? -
U mean old tank or new tank?

is getting a car at scrap value worth it?
Volitan replied to somebody's topic in General Reefkeeping_
Cons of 2nd hand car at this point:- Risk of getting problematic car Higher maintenance cost Higher fuel consumption Higher roadtax Higher interest rate. Pros of 2nd hand car Cheap capital cost, therefore low capital loan Won't heartache should the car get scratched Probably really "Made in Japan" (assuming it's a japanese car) If you are simply looking for a transport from Pt A to Pt B, and the 2nd car is from a reliable source (i.e car is in really good condition), and you don't want to get a lot of loan, then you can consider that. You do the math. -
Is your yellow boxer in your 3ft or 2.5ft? Your hawkfish never KaChiow your shrimps? If you want to buy zoos, jio me leh. But must wait for my tank to be ready 1st.

Tips & Tricks to keep yuma in tip-top condition

Do yumas sting each other? I mean, if I get different yumas from time to time, can I stick them onto the same rock base? -

Wow, seems like cost is a outright priority when selecting chiller. Or are you guys thinking of cost effectiveness instead? If not Resun would have gotten most of the deals right?
