WTS: Liverock,Schuran skimmer, chiller etc
panlee replied to panlee's topic in Sell off/Pasar Malam Shop
I have got many PMs, sorry to say that I can not reply to all. As I mentioned, I can not sell the rest before the liverock and fish as the tank is running. I will wait till there is buyer for liverock and fish, before I start contacting those that has PMed me. I am free only on Sunday, so if no buyer, then have to wait till next Sunday. Sorry for this arrangement and thanks for the patience of interested buyers. Bye. -
Have the following for sale. My tank is 3ft and has been in used about 2-3 years. Good buy if you are starting out as it saves you alot. I have to sell off items 1 (liverock) & 2 (fish) first before I can sell the rest. Have to get away all the liverock in order to catch the fish. So the liverock has to be sold before I am willing to sell the fish and the rest. All price in Singapore dollar. Collect at my house in Telok Blangah Crescent this Sunday only. PM if interested or want to know if it is still available. Items are not cleaned for your collection as the tank is still running live and I am selling all at once. All price fixed and final. No pictures available. 1. 4 fishes and 1 prawn. ($0 - Free) 2. Liverocks (enough to decorate a 3ft tank and a sump tank). You have to bring a trolley to carry it. It is very heavy. It is coated with algae but it should be easy to brush off. Initially purchased for few hundred dollar. ($30) 3. WeiPro LM-100 MH Lights. Consists of 2 MH and 2 normal light. I custom the power source so that you can have 2 on/off for each MH and normal light. To allow timer to set morning, noon, afternoon settings. This again is heavy. ($20) 4. Fish Cooler (Artica OEM) 1/4 HP chiller. Bought over $1K. ($200). 5. Schuran skimmer. This one bought quite expensive, can not remember. No pump. ($30) 6. Tunze 7091 Single Controller pump + Tunze fake rock. ($20) 7. 2 ft normal light good for fresh water (I use it in sump tank) bought less than 2 month. ($5) 8. Oceanus water filter kit. ($20) 9. three ft tank ($20) 10. two feed sump tank ($5)

RO/DI filters go through stages, you can view each stage as a type of filter housed in a canister for your water to pass through. An example of 4 stages RO/DI configuration (varies according to equipment make) include: Stage 1: sediment filter Stage 2: carbon filter Stage 3: RO membrance Stage 4: DI As water goes through the stages, it get purer and purer. The reading of TDS meter of water after stage 3 (i.e. RO water) is not 0ppm. Some people recommend to get RO/DI water instead of RO water only for reef aquarium. If you use DI only, the tap water would consume your DI filter quickly. As DI material is the most costly filter, you want to prolong its life by feeding it purer RO water instead. RO/DI equipment is more cost effective material wise. You can purchase RO/DI through online retailer for less than S$500. I bought from http://www.aquaticreefsystems.com/, as an example.
-
Whether you need RO/DI water depends on whether you are comfortable with the source of water you use. Singapore tap water TDS meter reading is about 65ppm. A RO/DI water reading is 0ppm. You can check www.pub.org.sg listing of chemical in our tap water to see if you want to put them in your tank. I know in some countries especially kampong area you get brown colour tap water, then I think RO/DI is absolute needed. RO/DI are filters. You can buy RO only equipment to get RO water. Or you can get DI only equipment to get DI water. Or you can combine to get RO/DI equipments to get RO/DI water. To be continue....

Flame Angel right? Angler (frogfish) is a totally different species. Some have success with flame angel in reef tank. For example the display tank in Mar* Li*. The saying is most of them ok but once in a while you get one that will nip. Some say maybe beginning it is ok, but once it learn how to nip then thats is. You have to take your chances if you like it.

Saw 2 or 3 zebra type at Hong Leong Mar*ne L*fe. I think big one about 25cm size. Se* Li* have 4 or 5 beginning of week but not too big.
