  1. I have the same problem with fire gobies too. Died within 1 week. All healthy and eating somemore.
  2. Maybe you can try having 2-3 cleaner, and 1 boxer. I have 2 cleaners, 1 fire shrimp and 1 boxer. The boxer everyday hide in the cave. Only chases the cleaners and fire shrimp if they 'invade' his territory. Recently noticed that my boxer lost 1 claw. Now is 1 arm swordsman
  3. I have 2 cleaner and 1 boxer in my 3' tank and they live happily after.
  4. Thermostats will get rusty if placed in saltwater for long time. I think even if you get a new one, it will still rust after a while. As long as its working, you don't have to replace it.
  5. I'm using a Resun CL650 also with temp set to 27C. My tank is 3'x2'x2' with a 2'x1.5' sump. I'm using an Eheim 1262 to pump from sump thru chiller to main tank. I'm suffering plenty of headloss, I guess my final flowrate is somewhere 2000L/hr or less. My chiller kicks in maybe every 2-3 hrs and runs for 45-60 mins on hot days. On cool days it kicks in maybe every 5-6 hrs and runs for 45 mins.
  6. My cleaner also has eggs. Just leave it. Heard that its not easy to rear the young. Become food for corals and fishes.
  7. Cocoworm is doing ok. Actually I took the video after it was ejaculating for some time. When it first started, the prawns were nowhere near it. If its a defense mechanism then I would think that the prawns will not be going near the stuff. But I can see that the prawns were eating it... like some bukkake orgy
  8. After feeding my fishes, suddenly noticed that my cocoworm was ejaculating this white stuff into the water Here is a of it. So its it spawning? How come the cleaner shrimp are eating the stuff? Water turned cloudy but cleared up after around 1 hr.
  9. The claw will grow back anyways The boxer in my previous office's tank drop 1 claw, became 1 armed swordsman. After next moulting, another claw had regrown back in 2-3 wks.
  10. Looks like similar design to my Macro AS-100.
  11. I've never seen any anemones along Changi beach. And unlikely since its more like loose sand and clay rather then reef. You can try your luck at Pulau Ubin. But certain areas like Chek Jawa are protected.
  12. Lucky my damage is only $15 for some LR He was trying to persuade me to buy his 'tonga' rocks for $400 Claims 200-300kg, but I only see like 50kg in the tubs and only a few pieces were tonga type rocks.
  13. If you can get a harlequin filefish to eat your X-factor...
  14. Your return pump should be connected to your return line, NOT your overflow box.
  15. I DIY'ed the part. Go to those shops selling rubber stuff and buy a sheet of rubber 2~3mm thick. Cut to the size required.

Can't you just change only the pump? Since its Ehiem brand.
  17. Maybe that is what's happening to my zoas Being dosing with reefmax ABCDE...
  18. I read that you can test the sand. Take some of the sand and pour vinegar on it. If it fizzes and dissolves, then its probably marine sand which contains calcium carbonate. Normal silica based sand won't have any reaction.
  19. Thats normal. My cleaners look yellowish after moulting a few times.
  20. Don't feel bad. My sand goby killed itself by tunneling under the LR. LR drop on it. Came home to find its tail sticking out of the sand, dead
  21. I noticed that my Idol's dorsal fin is growing longer and waving like a ribbon while its swimming. Thats a good sign right?
  22. Give them some time to settle down and adjust. I do find that my coral banded is also more aggressive than the cleaner shrimps.
  23. Flasher wrasse are also good jumpers. Last time I did not cover my hood properly, also can jump out through the small gap
  24. Siaoliao, when you come my place to collect the bioballs and coral chips, you can take a look at my sump design. Its a 2ft sump with 3 compartments. You can also take a look other reefers' sump in this forum and decide which design suits you better.
  25. I have 1 bag of bioballs (50-60 ea). Washed and dried. Removed from my sump. Also have 1 bag of coral chips (ard 15kg) inside my sump. Planning to get rid of them. You can have them FOC if you want. PM me if you are interested.
