  1. No... pods are damn small. The most they get giddy going through the pump
  2. What I do is use a siphon to suck the sand and debris. At the output side, I cover with mesh filter bag. The bag I buy from C328. It has quite large mesh size, so the smaller debris can pass through but sand cannot. But of cos if your sand is Grade 0, then you may not be able to use this method.
  3. I bought the LED strip from Sim Lim Tower. Its protected by the plastic strip so no corrosion. 1 strip was around $15 then. Maybe price has dropped by now.
  4. My retained the colour. But it does change colour when it is scared or just wake up. Will be a dull greyish kind of colour. Maybe your specimen is always scared or harassed by other fishes...
  5. Sometimes Henry brings them in. I kept one before and it adds colour to your tank. The only problem is that its easily spooked and will end up jumping out of your tank sooner or later. Thats how mine died in the end
  6. Oiled them regularly. But then rust still forms in long term.
  7. Seems to have happened to my clams too. I thought it was some disease that killed them.
  8. Rain water is acidic because it absorbs CO2 and SO2 from the atmosphere. Due to our air pollution it also absorbs other chemicals. So its better not to use it.
  9. You can also buy bottled distilled water from supermarkets, but its a more expensive option. A 1L bottle is around $0.50-$0.65 depending on how cheap you can buy it.
  10. You have to put the air stone in a skimmer. There are air stone skimmers available. You have to adjust the height of the air stone and the bubble rate to achieve your required skimming.
  11. Yes, actual name is scolymia. Prata is just our Singlish way of naming it
  12. You can buy the air stone from Clementi 328. Its actually a wooden block.
  13. I have used AZ-NO3 successfully to reduce my nitrates. But you still have to address the source of the N03.
  14. The supersun is long gone already
  15. Depends a lot on your rock arrangement also. You have to experiment to see.
  16. Selling 2 rocks of mushrooms. Circled in red - $2 Circled in blue $1 Take all for $2. PM me to deal. Collection is at Holland V area.
  17. I'm using Aquabee 2000 needlewheel for my Macro skimmer. I don't think the 2000 will be sufficient for APF600.

Shy at first and ate frozen, mysis only. But now eats everything. Temperament: Generally peaceful. Chases my yellow tail damsel once in a while. 19. I restarted my tank with NSW after moving house. I found that with NSW corals and fishes seem to do better compared to when I was using salt mix. Maybe the quality of salt mix makes a difference. If you drive, you can bring the NSW back yourself, but as others mentioned, it can be back breaking work. I buy the NSW from Irwana at $1/bag and put them in those styrofoam boxes that Irwana uses for shipping LS. 1 box can put in 4 bags. I think each bag is around 40L.

    DIY:

I wonder if you get an old minibar or small fridge and strip out the compressor and cooling coil, whether it will be a worthwhile DIY for nano.
