  1. I saw Rainbow at Serangoon North has those 2nd hand impellers in a box for lelong. Not sure if you can find the needle wheel impeller there
  2. Looks the same to me although a couple died. When they die, the shells just open up completely. If they are doing well, they will start to lay down their sticky threads and get stuck to the glass or LR. Maybe my tank's nutrient level is high so they still surviving? I basically dumped them into my sump together with LR and a clump of cheato.
  3. Not in my case. Hair algae is growing like grass all over...
  4. What I bought from CF are the common green mussels or 'tua tao'. I guess if get sick of them can always cook them for dinner
  5. Can you open it from the other side? If not, then its time to buy a new one.
  6. I think that is electronic potting compound. It won't melt in hot water.
  7. Your tank so high, 4 ft? Normally for large tank, you will have sump. So can change water through the sump.
  8. Threw them in the sump with cheatos and LR. Forgot all about them ever since. Seems like still alive, but no difference in nutrient level.
  9. Bi-coloured blennies damn territorial. I have 2 in my tank. Each one claim 1/2 of the tank as their own. Lucky my other fishes are larger than them, else kena whacked.
  10. No such thing as safety distance. Just whack only
  11. Thanks for confirming for me on the spawning. Posted earlier but nobody able to tell me if thats spawning or not.
  12. Well... I won't know why it died. Maybe it just reached the end of its life cycle. I had urchin which just died after a few months. I didn't get baby cocoworms after spawning So I was wondering if cocoworms release both male and female gametes during spawning or just 1 type?
  13. Did you check that your shrimp had molted? After they molt, the empty shell will be discarded. Then the shrimp will hide somewhere until the new shell hardens.
  14. When your cocoworm spawned did it look like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W4qzt5ycwQE? My cocoworm is still alive. Recently 1 head dropped off, but growing back the lost head again now.
  15. My boxfish used to nip on feather worms. Doesn't seem to nip on corals.
  16. Red sea salt tends to have a lot of residue sendiment. I also find that it has low Mg and Ca. Anyone else has the same results?
  17. Did you use any copper treatment for your fish? Inverts are intolerant of copper.
  18. I only bought 1 batch which is around 8-10 mussels. Don't think its enough to make a difference. Maybe have to go for mangrove already.
  19. Maybe someone who keeps harlequin shrimp will want it
  20. Instead of fish fillet you can try white bait, which you can get from supermarts. No tendons in those
  21. I seem to have problems keeping zoos too. But my mushies are doing ok.
  22. I bought 1 batch of mussels from CF over the weekend. The auntie told me they are used to 'clean' the water. Went back and found that my batch of mussels was spawning instead. The bag look like containing sperm Dumped the mussels into my sump and ended up my corals and feather worms were having a feast. Skimmer also skimming overtime.
  23. I have my sand dollar for several months now. Still going strong. But my sandbed tends to grow those brown stuff (diatoms?) quite easily, so I guess he has enough to eat
  24. Its dying once the spines drop. Nothing you can do. My own experience with urchins is that they don't last long.
