  1. You didn't mention if you are running a chiller. Maybe your water temp is too warm for it.
  2. The worms come from your LR. You still need to cycle your LR. Remove the dead worms. This is quite normal. Remember to do water change before adding livestock after cycling.
  3. Usually the goby species of fish.
  4. Went to re-measure the yellow tang. Size is smaller and price reduced.
  5. Updated with pics 1) Crocea clam ~5" size, $30. Bought at same price from Jireh 2) Hawaiian Yellow Tang 6-7", $50. Becoming too aggressive to my other fishes. Will do well with other larger fishes. Feeding on pellets and frozen food. 3) Coralife Deep Six wing arm hydrometer, $5 - calibrated to 1.024 with refractometer
  6. Remember to add in volume of your sump also (if you have sump). I always forget about that
  7. Thankfully it has recovered. Here is it after feeding with some prawn meat
  8. Just buy those drinking water from supermarket labelled as 'Distilled water'. Mineral water contains mineral salts which may not be good for your tank.
  9. I'm pretty lazy too when it comes to this kinda of tank maintenance things. I used to dose with Reefmax A, B, C, strontium and iodine. Later cut down on the strontium and iodine. I think those are really not necessary if you do water change with marine salt. Right now, I'm trying out Brightwell Elemental which contains pH buffer, Ca, and Mg. Although I think the Mg level is not high enough for this particular additive. I'm getting like 1260ppm of Mg but Ca is at 440ppm. I probably have to get additional Mg additive in future. As for dosage frequeny, I will usually do a test first before deciding whether to dose. That can be like 1/mth depending on my free time. I'm doing my water change now with NSW from Irwana. Just changed 10% after 2 mths running.
  10. I guess there is no hard and fast rule. As long as you your corals thriving, you are probably dosing enough. LPS and soft corals also need proper pH, alkalinity, Ca and Mg. You will need to maintain these parameters too. So I suggest you buy testkits for these, as well as, for phospates. You should get additives for Ca and Mg.
  11. Depends how much corals you have, and how much 5-in-1 you dose each time.
  12. When it grows to be the same size as your fish? Either you can get rid of it or throw it in your sump to eat detritus. For me I hate to kill stuff except aiptasia which grosses me out So I just throw any crabs, snails, etc in my sump. Out of sight, out of mind
  13. It'll grow bigger then you have a problem
  14. Lights sold! Clam and YT still for sale.
  15. Since you have a refugium, you should be quite safe to have a continuous supply of pods. Put some cheato into your refugium. Pods like to hide in cheato.
  16. Just be careful that acrylic scratches more easily than glass. If you get scratches on the front panel... everyday you see the scratches, damn tulan 1
  17. I think you should be able to easily buy a replacement switch from light shops or Sim Lim Tower. If you are not a handy man, then better to bring the light set down to get the switch replaced.
