I'm using Solite Type 3... 2x 150W MH + 2x 39W T5. MH will heat up your tank, so you do need to consider getting a chiller. But since you aircon your house 24/7 maybe not... aircon alone will cost more than running chiller
I went to Henry's shop today. The orange zoas are still there, 1 rock larger than fist size. The orange only on the centre with green skirting. Picked up a yellow sun and alveo instead
I don't really target feed my suns... too many heads, and the fishes will come and snatch the food away before the coral can pull it in. I just use Henry's food and let the current carry it around. But once in a while I do try target feeding with brine/mysis shrimp.
If you are keepling FOWLR then Mg can be low... although how this affects the fishes long term I don't know.
If you want to raise your Mg quickly I suggest that you use Brightwell Magnesion-P. I got this from ML and it works quite effectively to raise my Mg from 1100 to 1400ppm.
Quite happy with my purchase. Since managed to hustle auntie for a good discount
How you guys secure your frags to the LR? Its quite small so tends to get knocked over easily.
Still have, but maybe now less already... yesterday you bought some, today I bought some, vt_snowman probably bought some...
Auntie was trying to siphon out the hydroids today... looks like damn siong job
Went back to Irwana today after bro ambystoma's report... price for the USA zoas is now better than good... remember to bargain with auntie. If you can help auntie to get rid of the hydroid infestation in her display tank, maybe she give you more discount
Saw some small coral beauties at Ah beng's place, around 1.5" size. Got some eagle eye look-alike indo zoas from Pacific reef also
I have cheato in my sump too. My PO4 is 0.05-0.1ppm... not too bad, but thinking of trying to reduce further. And test kits for phosphates darn difficult to read the colour properly
