Weather is really hot and humid this week. Lucky I'm running a chiller, but its running more than usual. And I get condensation on my tank which normally doesn't happen. My set temp is 26C.
Any other reefers having the same thing happening?
I think its usually 20% discount... But then still remembered it being expensive la...
I must say CF's flame angels have one of the nicests colouration in SG.
So looks like I got chop... bought my flame angel from CF for 7 red notes All along auntie there always quote me same price. Ask for 1 yr already still same price
I have been feeding my prata and torch with prawn meat on weekly basis, so I really doubt they are starving. But somehow I noticed the torch doesn't really eat the prawn meat. The meat sticks to the tentacles and then usually floats away. Sometimes it does get drawn into the mouth.
Now my other coral which is the torch... some of the heads are slowly dying. In the picture, 3 of the heads have recently disappeared over the past 1 wk. This coral had survived brown jelly disease before but this recent case is different. The tentacles just slowly grow smaller and retract into the head until it finally disappeared. Any ideas what is happening and how to remedy it?
I seem to be having problems with my corals... first it was my super sun... now this...
I noticed recently my prata don't open up and is quite shrivelled. Upon closer inspection I found some white stuff on it. At first I thought its flatworms but its actually some sort of filaments that the coral is expelling. Is this mysentric filaments? Is it due to some sort of stress? Flow problem?
So far my water parameters are ok.
This is the tropical water kind of abalone. Those that we eat are temperate water abalone.
I have 1 abalone in my tank, bought from Henry. Its gotten really big now, quite scary looking. Recently, also found smaller baby abalone
Thats what I'm doing now. After talking to Henry, it seems that the condition is probably due to some other factors, although the fish nipping seems to have triggered it.
Need some help here. I used to have a nice supersun colony which grew from 5 heads to 10 heads. But recently it started to retract and now its dying.
I did see my blue tang nipping at it and then it started retracting. But even though I have isolated it, it still doesn't extend tentacles for feeding. Has been like that for pass 2-3 wks already.
Any experts can help me on this?
The sorry state now
My chaeto is overgrown again and need to clear. $5 for the whole bunch (just leave a handfull for me). You can see the size of my cheato ball here in Posts #517 and #518.

You got to weigh the cost of running a chiller vs the cost of running a fan. Don't say fan is cheap, cos you have to take into account the cost of topping up distilled/RO/DI water... not your tap water.
I used a fan before but find the water evaporation too much. Everyday got to top up like 2-3L of water for a 3x2x2' tank. yours is even bigger so the water evaporation will be even more. In the end I got a chiller instead.
