  1. yup precisely, in my previous tank, the minute i let the clowns out of the bag, they swam directly to the anemone, but this time it's different, it's like as if they dont notice the anemones at all? bro ahsiang, what do you feed your clowns with? thanks.
  2. hi there, i'd just bought 3 small clowns (about 1 inch big) and have introduced them to my tank with a green bubble tip and an Indo yellow anemone, but it's already been 3 days and the clowns keep swimming back and forth around the tank and don't seem to be hosting in the anemones. Did i do something wrong? the clowns dont seem to want to feed to after i put a bit of brine in the tank. Experts please advise? My tank's water cond is all clean and 0 for all basic tests. Thank you.
  3. Hi bro, please check your mailbox, PM u about the Wavemaker already. Thanks.
  4. hi jem, are u talking about this anemone? cos i bought mine from CoralFarm too about a week ago, saw this nice whitish one with purple tips. I took this pic last night after feeding it a piece of squid and under strong lights, there's a slight brownish hue to the body now, maybe it's gotten a better diet n light, i'm not sure, perhaps any Anemone gurus out there willing to give some advice? Thanks.
  5. yup mine too, my cleaner shrimp will also go to the middle of my anemone to steal the prawn meat! i wonder if one day the cleaner itself will be a meal for my anemone. I usually distract my cleaner with a piece of prawn before feeding my anemones too, but sometimes the bugger will get greedy, drop the prawn n grab from the anemone, maybe i'd bought a cannibalistic cleaner! loves to consume it's own kind!
  6. I have a set of 2ft T5 white n blue lights, after hours will be blue LEDs for moonlight. i think it's pretty sufficient since the tank is so small and narrow.
  7. hi H-Mania, nice tank so far, but as for your electrical outlets from the ELCB, what I would have done is to stagger the 2 double sockets at the bottom halfway in the middle of the top sockets, so that the wires from the top sockets' 3 pin plugs will run in between the 3 pin plugs at the bottom, instead of over the plug if there's one directly below it. A much neater overall layout i would think, this i learnt from a reefer from the U.S.. Anyways, good luck for your new tank.
  8. Hi there to all SRC Reefers, i'm currently setting up a new nano tank. The actual tank itself is only 10 gallons but the total water volume is about 20 gallons inclusive of the overflow sump area around the tank as well as the canister and other filters. Only planning to keep some anemones and perculas to keep the bio load low. Was actually planning to sell off this wall tank and replacing it with a bigger one but there wasn't any good offers so i decided to give this tank a try with marine fish, i had used it previously as a freshwater tank but wanted more vibrant colours, so here's my first attempt at a reef with this tank. Piping to all filters and the chiller is located behind the wall (which is a toilet) to keep the tank display neat and tidy from my Dining Room. Pictures below show the rock-scaping completed and black sand used for bedding. I will upload more pics for tips & comments as i progress further. Thanks and happy reefing.
  9. hi LemonLemon, hey thanks for your expert and very quick reply, so i shall just leave it there? Do you know what kind of algae this is? What dritters would u recommend to get first? Thanks again.
  10. Hi to all SRC Reefers. I need help in getting rid of this film like thing growing on my live rocks, they also contain bubbles of air underneath them. I've just set up my new tank about a few days ago and am currently cycling my tank and noticed this film growing. Water parameters are, NO3 - 10 NO2 - 1.0 NH3 - 0.25 Please help to identify as well as how to get rid of this film. Is this some sort of algae, in that case would a UV sterilizer or Scrubber work to get rid of it? Many Thanks in advance to all reefers who are replying. Nichjon.
  11. Hi Bro, please give list of test kits and colours & tubes of T5 lights? age and condition too, i may pay u more if it's worth it, collect form where? Nick 81136171
  12. Info for all fellow SG Reefers, based on my experience in the offshore business. The term Stainless Steel is generally more like Stain-LESS and not Stain-LES, which means that whatever grade of SS you use, it will still succumb to rusting. I've seen 316 grade SS rust like as if it's normal steel. The best protection for SS is still to protect it with heavy grease or paint for non-moving parts. Happy Reefing. Nick
  13. I have a few months old wall mounted fish tank complete with the cabinet and tank with built in circulating overflow bio filter system, a great piece to beautify any living or dining room. I have gotten many compliments and praises since installing it in my home, but am now embarking on a bigger project and therefore selling off this tank. All cabinetry still in tip top condition including the custom tank. Measurements of tank itself is 42"x15"x7" and size of the front cover is 50"x24", easy to install and set up. A set similar to this will easily cost you double from a shop so i'm planning to let it go for $650 to recover my costs only. SMS me at 81136171, thank you.
