yeah but snails dont clean that well as compared to hermits. Even hermits will clean their own shell while snails cant. Anjother good thing is you an paint the shell with your inno design before giving the Hermit. Hemits not 100% will take any shell, I think they prefer certain shells and only will change shells if its too small. The bigger the shell, the heavier load so who will want to carry that unnecessarily?

they are safe with starfish. red scarlet tends to be a bit safer but some sites said they will eat leftover meats so that means they will eat snails too. Blue leg will eat snails.

It wont work, will be like less than a baby's pee. A bro reefer even tried direct without chiller and even bigger pump, already failure few weeks ago. the pump flow rate is too small to lift up that height. and additional chiller, will 100% fail. suggest you do more research on this. There are lots of this questions and answers pop up now and then, try to search around.
