fishes are more tolerate to ammonia than snails. SG shocked, LOL. I dont think so. He should have measured that. As copper, this is not a quarantine tank so who will put copper in to kill sea cucumber and snails? Furthermore, copper kills worms and there is no sign of worms dead. Snails wont die of high nitrates. Nitrate and LR are two different things. LR is only a house for anaerobic bacterias. DSB is another way to reduce amount of LR. 6 months wont stable down the anaerobics bacerias. It takes at least 2-3 yrs with enough amount of LR and DSB. DSB is also depends if your tank has sand shifting animals. If disturbed, anaerobics bac wont grow. They grow in very very low oxygen places. 3 inches of DSB is useless as they need at least 4-5 inches to grow anaerobics. I think you have to research some readings. Low pH will kill sea cucumber and others too. If prolong having low pH, fishes will go up lorry also. Slime algae will cover the LR and makes the LR unable to grow bacteria. You can find this fact in the interrnet. 18kgs of LR is totally not enough. Minimum is 1kg LR/gallon. Furthermore, your tank is growing slime algae and thats the prove that not enough bacs and..... Terry, have you sold all that small zoos? I also suggest you to increase your LR to reduce your algae growth and water changing.

Will you risk? I wont. I prefer to believe researches and not LFS. Just want to be on the safe side. BTW I disagree with his comments. If the sea hare has poison and died, where did all these poison go? Become nutrients? Any chemistry facts to support that? However I believe an oversized skimmer can help skimming little amount of poison in time.

It turned the fishes to be its playmate.

30-31 degree celsius can keep LPS & softies?

this was my experience too. Depends on what corals, some still can survive and some unable. Some can shift once in a blue moon and some cant. -
you want to buy our snails?
-
I dont know. I dont think they will leave their shells because thats the only protection they have. Hermits do leave shells but not snails. I think snails are stucked with the shells so thats why the shells will grow with them.

yeah, depends how much LR you have. One kg will make that overload, LOL. Joking. I considered you have enough LR too and see that the stocks are not overloaded too. If you have ammonia/nitrite problem, it can be solved easily, just buy from LFS bacteria solutions. But bear in mind that when the bacterias are doing the job, nitrate will go up. Only old and stable LR can help you that.

If you read properly on the package, it says freshwater only. You can use whatever toys in your aquarium but I advise use proper things only. Zeolite is releases toxins in saltwater and absorbs at freshwater.
-
Zeolite is for freshwater only and wont work for marine.

not chilling means the chiller problem. Is the compressor on? If not on, maybe the controller broke down or compressor coil had damaged. If the compressor is on, this means the compressor either internally damaged or gas had leaked out so no gas. Usually no gas so fast is due to leaking and need to find the source to mend up before topping up the gas again.

it depends how much water volume is going through. If too small, your water might not able to go down fast enough. You can try and see if its OK. For my experience, if slightly smaller, the water level will raise slightly and thus prssure will push the water volume down. If your tank water level is still far away, you can perhaps try it.

SELAMAT HARI RAYA AIDIFITRI to everyone. One Country One Nation, OK. Everyone must celebrate together. Dont eat too much, take care.

Lim is correct, will certainly a bit of cool loss. If there is a restrictor to prevent damage to the chiller, then you can do nothing. Increase flow rate to 10000 lph also no use. Best you change the design. In and out also in sump. Seems Teco is clever to put the restrictor there. Same as my theory that many ppl refused to believe that the high backflow will damage the chiller in long run. Pls refer to a reefer who screwed up several weeks ago on return pump. Another reefer had damaged his chiller after 1 year weeks ago.

Funny, my turbo 1mm size also have shells. Dont worry, these snails wont be pest and wont disturb your corals. Big ones sometimes can disturb corals. When the lights off, they will come out to feed and I sometimes will lift the ones near the IOS filter to throw them to the other end. This is because I realized they went into my sump and nothing to eat there.

Red slime algae means your tank Live Rock are very new or during transportation when you buy, the bacteria will die off if left too long without water. Thats the main problem. Your LR bacteria is not enough to breakdown the ammonia yet. Do check ammonia.

ask the one who sold the chiller to you. They sell, must provide service. If 2nd hand from reefer here, then ask SRC sponsors.

1ft X 0.5ft X 0.5ft? LOL. Joking la. Usually that 2ft X 1ft X 1ft tank which has 50litres water is just nice to house 2 tangs and 1 shrimp. No need change water for 2 months eventhough you add copper and others slowly to max. I ever done that with bare tank and no LR, only with a hang-on filter.

All livings things trapped in a room will get stressed. After certain time, they will get used to it and in the mind, cursing you, LOL. Garlics will help antibody against bacteria infection but not 100%. At least it helps abit. Better kiasu.

pm you. better you deal with him if really interested.

It is advised not to place sand in a quarantine tank. You will have too much work to clean up. If you dont clean, when the sand goes up with detritus, ammonia surges. Moreover a small quarantine is very unstable. All fishes will be abit stressed if something is not in natural. They dont feed not because of no sand, may due to lots of reasons. No mate, water condition, still new, food not recognzed, scared of you,.... Is the wrasse added to the tang? Maybe the tang is stressed of this wrasse. Wrasse are aggressive.

bring the tv to the tank and switch on the adult video so they can spawn, LOL

I personally recommend Mr. crap to be your crab guide.

Baby snails is OK. Even small, they have shells. I have more than a hundred in my tank and only 2 adults.
