I think its glass. However, you can use glass. If use prospect have to be alot thicker. The pipe depends on your flow rate of return pump. Usually it recommended by pump maker. As long as you install a half time bigger size pipe than the pump output flow pipe, its OK. Please bear in mind that overflow needs more space so your hand might need to get in if anything happens. And pls becareful drilling. Glass drill bit is different and even an experienced tank maker will not have confident on not breaking. Furthermore the tiny bits of glass are dangerous.

Just to let you know, Hermits dont eat diatoms. They will wipe away and not eating. If the place has no algae, they wont bother to go near to clean. Only way is to get your tank season after time or get more old LR according to min 1kg/gallon.

The main problem starts with your Live rock. They are new or too little Live rock. You should solve the first problem and not adding another problem. Slime algae will kill off your star polyps. There is no reef safe anti-slime algae liquids in market yet. Turning off the skimmer doesnt mean no air. Fishes are suffering from your additive. Solution is change water and hopes corals can survive thru this crisis. Fishes usually after changing water can survive easily. All I can advise is there is no short cut in marine.

It depends how thick the glass and how good the silicon is. Seen many ppl use it and a friend is using a 3ft bow tank for yrs.

CL280 can do the job. But what if want to upgrade or suddenly want to share with another new tank? Advisable to get the bigger CL450.

well, too late for quarantine. It is under stress, white spots and under nutrition. Better feed more times. Hopes in time this will reduce stress when it is in main tank.

Yeah, approval is not permit. Approval means like the home base registered business. Approval is one time approve. Permits must renew every year/few years. Its advised to distribute the load off, to avoid those troublesome matters
