  1. Yeah, I was hoping to simplify the hobby without burning a hole in my pocket.
  2. Recently I caught most of my Damsels (but not all) with a fish trap. They are sold in LFS, even some freshwater LFS. Plastic box with sliding doors on both end. Lift open 1 end and keep it open with a toothpick, leave the trap in the tank for a few days and feed from the trap. Some fish will go in to eat, remove the toothpick and the trap door closes. But not all fishes are bold enough to go in. fishbear, at night my fish sleep inside the rocks so very difficult to reach them.
  3. There may be only a handful of reefers out there using Sea-Lab No. 28 Automatic Replenisher blocks. Can you share your experience with this product? (Please don't go off-topic discussing Calcium Reactors or dosing Kalkwassar/Calcium supplement) I found my calcium level in both my 12 gal and 7.7 gal tanks to be at 720 mg/l (Sera CA test). I thought there was something wrong with my test kit until I found somebody else with the same feedback. Is it because this product is not suitable for Nano tanks or my tanks don't use up calcium fast enough (no stony corals)?
  4. Extras after rescaping. Deal near VivoCity/Tiong Bahru. I reserve the right to decide who to deal with.
  5. Interested. Can deal at your convenience
  6. So these 2 items can be used together to set the tank's temperature?
  7. Got pic of the hang-on filter with surface skimmer?
  8. Was wondering if there is any problem feeding dried shrimp meant for human consumption to marine fishes.
  9. I'm guessing it is HLLE (Head and Lateral Line Erosion), also called Hole in the Head. Due to poor nutrition. Remedy is using Selcon (available from Reef Depot) or Kent Marine's Zoecon. But personnally haven't tried them before.
  10. 4) I've got this formula for bioload from somewhere: 1 inch of fish per 5 gallons of water. 5) Liverocks have the smell of the ocean, I've been told, since I have a poor sense of smell.
  11. Some ideas for beginner's fish: Beginner's fish and add a lot of patience.
  12. Upz for your sales. Very honest and helpful seller. Worth the trip to Sembawang.
  13. Such a generous reefer. I feel guilty for thinking of trying to make a few bucks. But need to pm him or else he doesn't know your kind offer.
  14. Is that a LED light also? DIYed? Also, how do you prevent the Eheim Hang on filter from creating bubbles? Nice scaping.
  15. I bought a pack of 2 Crystal Standard DI refill for $25+. Don't know is it a pricing error or is there a difference between Crystal Standard and Crystal Pro.
  16. I recently used a freshwater PH test kit to test the DI filtered tap water and found out it is at PH 5. After salt is added, PH goes up to 8.2 and so not a problem. But I'm using a fan to cool down my 4ft and need to top up about 1 Gal of DI water daily. Should I buffer my top up water with PH up?
  17. I have no plans to use the Zeovite system. Just that I came across this zeolite called Aquasorb: Activated HSCAS by Unipoint (Swiss quality product). And it is stated also suitable for salt water. Before I put it into my Canister filter for my FOWLR, I was hoping to see if anyone else have tried before. Maybe I will be the first one to test it out?
  18. 4ft T8 FL light set with stand. Brand is Ocean Free or Rainbow (not stated on the set). Holds two tubes that are only for 3ft tube. Comes with Arcadia Marine White tube and Mr Aqua Blue Coral tube (about time to change). Condition is 6/10. Deal at South - Lower Delta Road.
  19. Anyone using Zeolite as a filter media? I'm wondering if there will be any problem. I'm not taking about the complicated Zeovite system, just plain bag of zeolite put into my canister filter. I understand it can absorb (not convert) ammonia right?
  20. May I add that getting a taxi to and from the farms are pretty difficult because many taxi drivers would not know the location even if you give them the correct address. And it is near to impossible to get a taxi out from the farm. Since you're here especially to procure the best fish, I recommend you hire a limousine taxi for half a day or even a full day.
  21. I've been advised that the only fish that cannot get along with Royal Gramma IS the Black Cap Basslet
  22. A general rule of thumb is to cycle for 1 month. If you want to add fish to help the cycling process, I recommend 2 freshwater molly, even those meant as feeder fish. They will survive in saltwater. Interested to know what internal filter you intend to use.
