  1. let us know when your tank cycles. interested to know how much time u can shave off with the addition of live sand n the aragonite.
  2. tried cyclopeeze. it didnt even look at it. clever b@sT@^d.
  3. boon keng.. will try to go tomorrow. any idea how to get there? nv been there b4. boon keng...the new mrt line?
  4. thats quite a bit of bioload. if u wanna do it u will want to monitor your water parameters often.
  5. zooplanton? DT can anot? ive tried mixing frozen brineshrimp n mysis shrimp n cyclopeeze together. just dun see the fish eating. hope it will soon. PR is paradiz reef rite? wats the addy? is it within walking dist from lavender MRT? jon.
  6. hi all my sunburst isnt eating. i've only seen it eating a couple pieces of frozen brineshrimp yesterday. (got the fish on sat from SL) its not hiding a lot. comes out into the open every now n then. only hides when i get too close with my face or fingers. anybody got their sunburst feeding properly? let me know how u did it. frozen brineshrimp mixed with live? will it work? jon.
  7. nice. did u use any silicone?
  8. in any case.. for T5s how much wattage do i need?
  9. hmm.. so have to go for MH lah. hai... i dun mind saving for it. just that currently no space for another tank. thanks anyway. just wanted to know if my silly idea would work. =)
  10. thanks for all the replies. when i get T5s in future then i keep the clams. temp wise how ah? 28C can? wats the highest i can go?
  11. heh. just dun like the look of a tank without fine "0" sand. lol will 72W of PL be rnough for sqams n desaras?
  12. hmm... how many clams should i have in a standrd 2 feet?
  13. actually, was thinking of sqams n desaras coz my the higer intensity required by the maxis. hmm.. it does seem 55W is on the low side... how about 2X36W? i think 8000k is more suitable than 10k rite? T5s pricing is somewat on the high side. not affordable for me in the near future. unless i spurge my pay on it. and i have a standrd 2 feet lying ard at home mah. got stand somemore. hi roidan, just saw your post. hmm.. i guess the PL out of the qn.... thanks... but are the other stuff ok?
  14. hi all was just thinking, since clams require very intense lightings (maxis n croceas), will a shallow tank reduce the amt of light intensity needed? thinking of a standard 2 feet tank, with VERY thick sand bed (was thinking half of the tank height). sloped towards the front of the tank. will require some eggcrates to do the scaping, i guess. filtration will be a simple hangon filter equipped with some form of phosguard and active carbon. perhaps poly filter as well. lighting wise... will a 55W PL work in this case? white PL, 8000K. also some LR, not too much, so the clams can have the sandbed to themselves. LS will probably be a 6-lined wrasse. is this a gd selection? i like the wrasse coz its very active. n some snails for a bit of algae control. just an idea i tot of while surfing. feel free to comment. jon.
  15. hmm... the PL lights not enough foor softies n LPS ah? not going for MH lah. $$$ leh. then chiller also very $$$. lol =)
  16. hi all am planning a 3 feet tank (2 feet depth) with mainly softies n LPS. thinking of the following config... 1. PL lights. (2x36W) - 02 units three 10K tubes and one artinic. OR 4x36W - 01 unit also 3 10k and 1 artinic 2. sump (with DSB grade 0 sand and marcoalgae on reverse photoperiod) 3. a suitable Weipro skimmer for the sump. which model should i be getting for a 3 feet? 4. tunze stream - 01 unit (which model should i be getting? ) Or should i be getting a Rio? 5. fan. (protechic fan) - 01 unit 6. eggcrates. (aquascaping) 7. anything else? oh yeah, anybody knows any freelance tank makers? the prices quoted by some LFS kinda steep. gerald maybe? anyone got his contact/email? i think email better. jon.
  17. 18Watts are not enough. IMO FLs cannot provide enough light for the anemone. try T5s. PLs may work too.
  18. well, i think u should catch it n return to the LFS (if possible) else feed him well enough so it doesnt nip on your corals. no guarantees tho. jon.
  19. chk your phoshate levels too. could be on the high side.
  20. hey, maybe his fans can lower temp but wont coz evaporation. heh.
