Hi guys I would like to know what u guys think about this: Let's say I'm starting a 1x1x1ft nano. To speed up the process I actually take water from a well established tank and fill it up. And then add my own live rocks. Would u guys recommend this or rather the good old wait till its finished cycling method?

Hey guys. Thanks for all the advice and help. Im sad to say my dad still disapproves about me restarting this wonderful hobby although my mom fully supports me. Any ways i will be back! When i start N.S. after BMT ill start a tanks if i have the time to. Than my dad cant say anything cause ill offer to play the electricity bill haha! Wa power la thanks bro. I was looking everywhere for this. I remember seeing it some where before but couldn't seem to find it. IOS tank is the one with the sump at the back or side right? What does the I O S stand for? Never heard of it haha. I only know it's a bit not user friendly cause hard to clean as compared to a sump. Plus the sump will help increase water capacity of the tank and easy to hide and put all the equiptment there. Thanks for the help bro!

Haha u should have seen my previous tank. So nice la but when he see the electricity bill the tank become ugly haha. about the over stocking no worrys I'm the slow and steady kind. For my previous tank I let it cycle naturally before even adding a damsel to test haha. And then Waited about 3 months before adding any other fish or corals haha!

Hi guys I was just wondering if any of u know someone that works for NUS, tropical marine science institute at St' Johns Island. I wana apply for an intern position for a period of 2 months. I'm currently a 3rd year student at Temasek poly, diploma in Biotechinology. I'm really interested in marine biology and had a reef tank of my own at the age of 12. I stoped after 4 years I like to gain more experience in the marine bio field because I plan on furthering my studies in marine biology. This will sort of give me a good head start and some experience in this field. Thanks!!

None taken, but just to let u know i started my first reef tank when i was 12 So yeah ive thought well about all these an even more. I feel theres nothing wrong with seeking an unused tank than is just lying in someones house. To me the 20 bucks i use to get a tank is wasted if theres some one who already has it and is just leaving it there. So dont worry i have the $$ u are reffering to Hope i din offend u

Hey guys some of u may know i'm looking for an foc 2ft nano tank. Ps. 'still looking' so if u have a unused tank lying around that is in good condition u know who to call In the mean time i wanted to construct my own led lam. I've read some where that these little wonders can out shine a Metal Head Lamp and save u tones of money on your electricity bill. Is this true? If so, does any one know where i can get this LED Kits? The first place i thought of was Sim Lim Tower. About the individual LED bulbs what are the ratings i have to get to achieve the same amount of light output as a MH Lamp?
